Bullheads, yes the little catfish. At one time a huge fishery was located here. They warrant a town festival still.

I've lived in the IA/IL Quad Cities for 28 years and just learned the Maid Rite loose meat sandwich was invented in nearby Muscatine (IA). They have numerous restaurants in the area but I've never made it to one.

Yep, the California burrito was invented here in San Diego. A burrito like no other:

“The California burrito is a carb-loaded behemoth, beloved by San Diegans. In its most basic form, it comes stuffed with carne asada and french fries, with guacamole, cheese, sour cream, and other ingredients often added to the mix. Though the notion of putting french fries in a burrito may not sound appealing to everyone, in many ways it optimizes the hybrid that is Cali-Mex food.”

Current city: too many to mention

Hometown (Pensacola): Probably most known for our mullet, whether it be fried fish, smoked fish, roe. Mullet toss is pretty popular though kinda dumb. The food is excellent. Used to be considered trash fish by many, probably before my time, as it's very popular now. My grandfather would cover the smoke house in em when he could get em.

There is a beverage made here and sold primarily in the "Tri-Cities" area.

It is "in-between" a soft drink and an energy drink tasting somewhat like Mountain Dew.

Tatortodd covered Houston.

I grew up outside of New Orleans. Far to many tasty things to mention, but certainly Crawfish, Crab, Muffelettas, Gumbo, Jambalaya, Etouffee, Red beans and rice, Beignets are high on the list of signature dishes...

Pork roll was developed in 1856 by John Taylor of Trenton, and sold as "Taylor's Prepared Ham" until 1906. In regions of North and Central Jersey, all brands of pork roll may be referred to colloquially as "Taylor Ham".

About 20 minutes west, the Oklahoma Onion Burger. It was invented in the Great Depression years as a way to stretch the meat. Properly done, the onions are sliced super thin and mashed into the grill then the hamburger meat mashed over that.

If you’re traveling on I-40 you just have to stop in El Reno and get one.

My wife loves that soda.
When ever we visit my father in law she buys a case and we bring it back to Florida.
When ever he visits he has to bring her some.

They make Chili that will burn you all the way through, but still taste good!

So are you actually saying you like Skyline chili? The taste was awful to me. Ginger does not belong in chili!
