At least it was quickly resolved. Best wishes to you and your wife.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Still in hospital, hoping for bail to be posted tomorrow, but she's on the mend. Thank you all for your kind thoughts.

The first day we were in our current house my oldest son got kicked in the eye and ended up with a corneal abrasion. It was a great way to start off.

The path report on her appendix came back from Mayo. She has stage I Goblet cell adeno-carcinoma. A rare cancer of the appendix that is found in 1/2000,000 patients. 80% survival rate. She goes in for resection of her right colon next Friday.

She's a 21 year breast cancer survivor, and now this.

Fuck her luck.

Oh no, sorry to hear the bad news about this turn of events. But if it's Stage 1 and confined to the appendix (and the survival rate is fairly high), there is good reason for optimism with the surgery.

Best wishes for a successful surgery, and prayers sent to both of you.
