We do a potluck and our "bonus" is tied to to the number of sick days used the previous year. No sick days used and you get around 30 hours pay and it dwindles down to nothing from there. Now I worked for a real estate investment company 20 years ago that through lavish Christmas parties with open bar, sit down meal, casino night, prizes, and fairly decent bonuses. Thank you Very little |
Companies will have holiday or Christmas parties, depends on the management and attitude at the company. Ours is a quick run through Chicky Filla then over to the LGS to pick up the Xmas bonus gun...

My house, I cook for everyone and everyone gets cash for bonus. Pay your own way is messed up. God, Family, Country.

We do a December bonus for all employees. And other bonuses during the year depending on company and individual performance. Christmas is a bit hectic - but we’ll do a party for NE staff in January. Pay for rooms for those that travel to CT from Boston area, dinner / open bar at a great local restaurant. Set up Uber from restaurant back to hotel. Most folks then walk across the street and close down the local Irish bar - and we pick up that tab too. We’re a small company, and NE staff are significant contributors to our bottom line, so no issue taking care of them for the night... NRA Life Member - "Fear God and Dreadnaught"

That's awesome. That is something I would attend (except my boss can't cook shit). I have seen some of your meals so I'd come just for the food anyways. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Yes the company paid for everything. Catered the meal, gave bonuses, had drawing for gift cards, Echos, Rokus, and a few TVs. RVP thanked everyone for their patience after going through a big acquisition of a competitor. Really nice all the way around. +

Get my pies outta the oven! |
That sounds like an incentive to get people to show up to work sick...and get even more people sick.

For over thirty years they were pot luck with some main course cratered, with the gift exchange done by drawing numbers. No bonus due county government. No complaints here.

My old boss would take about 10 of us to a nice restaurant & pay the entire bill. I did not have any real co-workers as I trained his horses. He always gave me a $500 bonus at Christmas & on my birthday. The place I work now is a family business. I've been there 3.5 years & this year is the 1st party we are having since I have worked here. They are calling it an employee appreciation gala at a nice Country Club, catered & we are allowed 1 guest & are suppose to have some nice raffles. I am wondering if they are doing this in place of our Christmas bonus or if we will still get our individual bonus. Only time will tell. I usually get a $200 gift card. They did not give each of us a turkey at Thanksgiving this year, in the previous year's they have.

Self employed, but it has been a good year. I decided on a rare treat for family this year. I always cook prime rib for Christmas for the last 25 years. Lavaca Meat has 40 day aged Prime Rib that I have to try. Their steaks are expensive, but to die for. Would love to try reverse sear, but on this one, I'm gonna go with the recipe I have always used. Scary to cook +$400 hunk of meat. Will let you know if it's worth it! _________________________________________________ "Once abolish the God, and the Government becomes the God." --- G.K. Wow. That sounds like one hell of a Christmas party to me, I am sort of family right? I understand going with old reliable, but the reverse sear is the way to go in the future. Not going to be a fair comparison though because you are doing dry aged Prime one this year. You better f#$king post a thread showing unboxing, seasoning, prep, cooking methods, carved pics, and family reviews. That is one heck of a special dinner right there, I hope you guys enjoy it. Merry Christmas! Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished |
I think it has more to do with money than religion. Up until a couple of years ago my company used to have a nice party 'downtown' at a hotel or someplace with a meal, bar, etc. Now, the 'party' is for 2 hours one Thursday after work. They do hand out 2 tickets for drinks. No bonus but I wouldn't expect one (I've worked for medium to large corporations for over 30 years and can't remember ever having received one at Christmas).

We have a small regional team with a director that goes to bat for us. This year, nice dinner with spouses in the city and overnight hotels for us, company paid for it. Pre- and post-party we picked up, which was fine, we got to 'observe' the idiots roaming around during Santa Con.

For real? |
No company party. No bonuses. The assistant chief says our incentive to work comes every two weeks in the form of direct deposit. No bonuses required. A shift might go out together. That’s about it. My exwife’s boss used to take everyone and their spouses out to dinner for Christmas. And everyone got profit sharing bonuses for Christmas depending on the amount of work they did. My wife used to get anywhere from $5k plus every Christmas. The year my daughter was born and she couldn’t work for a month, I did most of her work for her from home after my job and that year he gave me a bonus. Not minority enough!

Was that you or the dog? |
Haha...Sign me up. Fancy restaurants and bonuses are overrated. This looks like a party that will be remembered long after the shrimp cocktail is forgotten at others. ___________________________ "Opinions vary" -Dalton

Catered company-wide party with open bar at a Country club that owner and some upper management own houses at. Can bring spouse or date. Individual departments usually have a lunch paid for by manager. Get $25 for each year of employment and paycheck before Christmas we get paid out for unused sick days and vacation days for the year.
