Agreed. I honestly would have thought less of Biden had he not pardoned his own son. Of course he was lying when he said he wouldn’t pardon him, just like he lied about so much other stuff. But at the end of the day, any father deserving of that title would help his own son or daughter if he had the ability to do so, especially for the non violent crimes that Hunter was charged with.

Tax violations put Al Capone in prison. Maybe he deserves a pardon also, even if he is dead.

This bullshit that any father would pardon his children is ridiculous. A selfish father would pardon his children, a leader of a country that expects the rest of society to follow the law would not pardon his children.

Yes it would hurt to see your child sent to prison, but right is right and wrong is wrong. Only a selfish person would spare his own children while millions more are sitting in jail.

It would be as bad as saving your own children from being sent to war, while ordering other peoples children to go to war.

That last expression before he begins to go dark was the fearful look of a man being confronted with his own sins, accumulated over a lifetime.

Unless he has a moment of true clarity and repentance, his passing will not be a peaceful one.

I completely agree. I was taught that teaching your children to be responsible for their actions is part of parenting.

Yup. He has presidential pardon power. This is his son. My outrage meter didn't even twitch.

I'll celebrate when Trump pardons the J6 hostages and let the left have their meltdown then.

I can’t wait to see someone as KJP about the pardon. It’ll be great to watch her squirm.

That said, I imagine she will say “we’re done here” close her notebook and saunter off.

One component that is glossed over is that the pardon is for more than the gun and tax convictions, but ALL crimes committed or may have been committed between Jan 1, 2014 and Dec 1, 2024. This includes the Ukraine money laundering shit that also involves Joe, much of this starting in 2014.

Just to be clear his own justice department and the court system convicted Hunter out of political hatred of Joe? The logic makes no sense.

It's infuriating, just be honest and say I'm president so I'm doing this because I care about my son.

Biden is a POS. I understand a father's love and protection for his son, but for no other reason than he can, he's excusing behavior that no other father can possibly exercise on behalf of their own son.

The president will prosecute you for violation of the King's law but will excuse identical behavior for Hunter.

I'm not disappointed in Joe because I always thought he was a shallow thinking POS on most issues.

So, as a police officer, you should get involved if you wife or child got arrested?

Your question isn't properly focused. Hunter was already convicted and this was sentencing by the judge - there's nothing anyone can do when all that's left and it's the judge's discretion or there are mandatory sentences.

Biden's DOJ worked the system to let the SOL expire on a number of things but what stuck, isn't really subject to any influence at the sentencing stage.

To me, its less of a father / son thing and more of a family criminal conspiracy covering its ass.

Shouldn't Biden clean house? If it was a corrupt DOJ AND judge that did this, is he firing people at DOJ and moving for impeachment of the judges?

“Non violent crimes” is a term the left uses to downplay crimes that 20-30 years ago people wouldn’t commit for fear of going to prison, forfeiting Rights, etc.

Oh yeah, now it’s ok, it’s “non violent”.

So now that Biden has been pardoned for all federal criminal acts going back to 2014, if the Repubs really wanted to sully Joe's reputation, they can kickstart their Burisma hearings and call Hunter, who can't invoke the 5th and would have to testify.

Who would the target be? FJB? Whatever he's done, that ship has long sailed.

Anything prior to 2014, statue of limitations is passed for the younger Biden.

It's over.

Trump has no interest in going after any Biden, his gripe was that the DOJ and former DOJ people conspired to cover up the laptop. It's a head scratcher though that the same people would both try to cover up Hunter's actions and politically prosecute him.

It's almost like it would be impossible for both to be true.....

It remains to be seen if the pardon extends to treaty violations. Hunter had Bio labs in Ukraine in 2014.
So, I have heard
In any case, Hunter is not smart enough to have set up all the shell corporations. There are plenty of people to go after that were involved. 2014 is when the Ukraine war started with the bribes and kickbacks. Maybe an audit could be forthcoming
