Did the water bottle lady admit fault? Did she have insurance?

Now you have a new car research project to keep you occupied!

Even if she is, I'm sure there's also legal options available.

Keep an eye out on YouTube. Some vehicle repair channel may be fixing it for the views after it goes to auction.

when my Mini was totaled by a guy ''drinking coffee'', as in on his cell phone,

his insurance offered up some funds,
I complained,
insurance told me to go find several comps and send them to him, and he would adjust,

he did not, after that exercise I was told the payout would be as he said, (don't recall the number, but less than I could find a similar car for) and suggested go another route to get the difference,
reading between the lines, I lawyered up, got paid the amount he said for the car, and the balance from 'pain and suffering'

medical as well, tho I was fortunate that I only had a few bruises and a bruised back, ,

Sorry to hear that.

Hopefully the auto insurance hasn't gotten as weaselly as homeowners insurance has become. {Knock on wood} I haven't had an auto claim in long time but my first and only homeowners claim in 2025 required me to hire an attorney to get them to honor their policy. My claim was less money than your Audi.

Maybe you can buy it back and take it to a better auto body shop with a much better cost to fix it and make out. A lot of people do.

I don’t drive my performance AWD 6MT very much locally anymore. Far too many on the phone when they drive and very poor driving in general. I take the DD, and drive as little as possible until I can move rural.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I'll add, my accident in Feb, all 4 cars involved were with Progressive.

Only a small amount of back/forth & ended up netting more than I owed on the car.
Wasn't enough to replace it [due to scarcity] but I was surprised because I was expecting a severe lowball from the start

She admitted fault and was cited. Thank goodness I don't have to fight that portion of the battle.

And SC of course she's underinsured. I started the claim on my policy before ever finding out though because I have OEM parts coverage.

Thanks! I was using car gurus, which it appears is not as encompassing as I thought.

Man I’m sorry to hear about your accident. That really sucks.

We just came back from Europe and we saw some beautiful Audi GT’s over there. Sadly, they aren’t available in the US….BUT… if you get a good settlement and add a few Pennie’s you might be able to snag this Audi offering coming soon…

But seriously, I do feel your pain. I had a “friend” ask to test drive my Porsche as he was considering buying one to compliment his GT3RS as a more street friendly daily driver. He proceeded to loose it on a corner and ran smack into a pine tree, IN MY SUBDIVISION!.
I said I guess we can just switch titles and he apologized but wrote me a check for what I thought the car was worth on the spot. (He is an ophthalmic surgeon).
He thought he knew how to drive a close ratio manual…

You’re welcome. Autotrader has been my go to for over 20 years. Since it’s not as easy to use as it used to be along with sellers using other means to advertise I look at other sites now as well.

That woman has no clue she’s the reason we can’t have nice things. To her it’s just a car. For a lot of us it’s a celebration that we’ve reached the point where can do something nice for ourselves with no excuses.

Autotempest is another good one for searches. Takes a bit to figure out, but supposedly searches all sale sites

Not many out there that I can see either.

I've been using visor.vin - only 2 2024's popped up that had the competition package and one of those had 28K on it...

I feel so sorry for you, it makes me sick.

Another reason my 1979 Mercedes Coupe (81000 original miles) stays in the garage until I take it back to Europe. I have lost count of how many people I know here that have been hit by other drivers. Drive around Atlanta and almost every other car here has damage on it. Friend of mine with a beautiful 1980 MB sedan had the rear bumper pushed all the way to the back seat.

Thread drift, pics!

I got rear ended in my 1982 240D, folded the trunk in half but the back doors still would open & close without issue. Tank of a car, but it did $7 in damage to a $2k car.
