Go ahead and be offended. I don't particularly give a shit at this point. I have had it with the fair weather friends attitude of some of you guys. President Trump has done tremendous things for this country, but some of you want everything to be perfect. Well, guess what? Life will NEVER be perfect.

It's so unbelievably stupid, the way some of you guys are reacting to not getting EVERYTHING YOU WANT IN JUST THE WAY YOU WANT IT.

And in case you guys missed it, this may help you understand my comments.

It’s Official: U.S. Troops are Leaving Syria

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...leave-syria-n2537759

The White House officially announced Wednesday morning nearly 2,000 U.S. troops are being pulled out of Syria.

"Five years ago, ISIS was a very powerful and dangerous force in the Middle East, and now the United States has defeated the territorial caliphate. These victories over ISIS in Syria do not signal the end of the Global Coalition or its campaign,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders released in a statement. “We have started returning United States troops home as we transition to the next phase of this campaign. The United States and our allies stand ready to re-engage at all levels to defend American interests whenever necessary, and we will continue to work together to deny radical Islamist terrorists territory, funding, support, and any means of infiltrating our borders."

President Trump declared victory over ISIS in Syria before the announcement was made.

On Capitol Hill, a number of lawmakers are slamming the move.

Yes, that's exactly what they want. Can't have Trump getting credit for a booming economy, especially when the anointed one could never get over even 3% growth.

Yes. They do. Then they can lay the blame on Trump. Economy was already looking weaker and raising rates was the last thing the Fed needed to do. IMO, Trump shouldn’t fuck with the Fed. They always get the last hit. It all goes back to that globalist vs anti-globalist thing. Trump should never had taken ownership of the market. Hopefully the market gets running on full steam before the next election cycle.

Just like Judge Sullivan in the news today. Everyone is asking is he a Democrat or a Republican based on those who appointed him. He is pro unlimited immigration. And not too smart either. Very bi-partisan.

Wow, I just opened the above link and took a look, I did not open that particular thread because I don't give a shit about bumpstocks. What a disappointment Frown

Donald Trump is hands down the best U.S. President in my lifetime. I wake up each day, fuckin' thankful that we got him in office rather than any other Democrat or Republican .

Folks need to get a grip, see the forest thru the trees. Anybody else in his place would be a huge step down.

I'm in agreement with Para. How many times has it been said that the alternative would have been Clinton. Think about that for a second.

Trump is going to have an upward battle the next 2 years and there is nothing, moaning and groaning that will change that. If it wasn't for the rino republicans in Congress and the Senate he would have fulfilled all of his campaign promises by now. Where would the swamp be with Hillary at the helm?

I'm just sitting back and enjoying the show myself.

Jim

The Fed rate is not supposed to buoy the market, it is supposed to keep inflation in check. A stock market that is showing steady gains does not always mean the economy is healthy. Look at the market during Obummer's 8 years. It gained, and gained, and gained while the economy was in shambles. The financial advisers I golf with advised me about six months ago to get GTFO of equities and into cash. There will be great buying opportunities next year or two. A few have mentioned that real estate will be a good buy in two or three years. So far I like their advice about stocks and time will tell about real estate.

How about that for a Christmas present!

Excavators, cranes, and steel panels being set. Need me to post some photos for you?

Don't let the left (or others) play semantics. "It's not a wall, it's a fence". "It's not new, it's replacement". "Trump doesn't have the funding".

The fact of the matter is that existing fence is being replaced with much larger and substantial barriers, and there are sections being built from scratch.

It doesn't matter where the money is coming from, when it was approved, or what you want to call it. Wall is being built, right now, as I type this. Maybe not as much or as fast as some would wish, but you have to start somewhere.

Hadji did the same as I recall, and how'd that work out?

I'm all for being able to bring the troops home, but only when there is a victory to declare and the enemy really is defeated. They've done a spectacular job under The Donald, but I'm not so sure that that job is done just yet. And you can be sure that Iran and Russia are jumping for joy right about now.

Being critical of some of the decisions that Trump makes does NOT mean that those being critical would prefer that the Clintons were back in office. I don't know why that connection continues to be made here. A lot of us who voted for Reagan didn't agree with everything he did either. It doesn't mean that we'd have rather had a second Carter term.

Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker will not recuse himself from overseeing the Russia probe, despite mounting pressure from Democrats who cite his “hostility” toward Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation.

Senior Justice Department officials told Fox News on Thursday that Whitaker met several times with Department ethics officials, who found no conflicts of interest regarding his oversight of Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling and potential collusion with Trump campaign associates during the 2016 presidential election.

A small group of senior advisers then did their own review and recommended that Whitaker not recuse himself. Whitaker agreed.

"It's a close call," one senior DOJ ethics official said, noting that he would have recommended Whitaker recuse out of an abundance of caution.

Whitaker, who served as chief of staff to former Attorney General Jeff Sessions until Sessions was fired, has faced extreme pressure from Democrats to recuse himself to ensure that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein continues in that role.

Sessions recused himself from overseeing the probe due to his work on the Trump campaign in 2016, turning control to Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller on May 17, 2017. Sessions, whose resignation was requested in early November, had been criticized by Trump throughout his tenure at the Justice Department due to the decision to recuse himself from the investigation.

Whitaker’s new role includes oversight of the Russia investigation, along with the agency’s other federal investigations, including the New York prosecutors’ look into the finances of Trump and his former aides.

But Democrats and 18 state attorneys general blasted Whitaker’s appointment, pointing to his past comments in the media about the investigation.

In an op-ed Whitaker wrote last year, he argued that Rosenstein should “order Mueller to limit the scope of his investigation to the four corners of the order appointing the special counsel.”

“If he doesn’t, then Mueller’s investigation will eventually start to look like a political fishing expedition,” Whitaker wrote. This would not only be out of character for a respected figure like Mueller, but also could be damaging to the President of the United States and his family—and by extension, to the country.”

Separately, in a June 2017 CNN appearance, Whitaker said that he could “see a scenario where Jeff Sessions is replaced with a recess appointment, and that attorney general doesn’t fire Bob Mueller, but he just reduces his budget to so low that his investigation grinds almost to a halt.”

Last month, though, the Justice Department Office of Legal Counsel issued an opinion supporting Whitaker’s appointment, which remains temporary.

Earlier this month, Trump appointed William Barr, who served as attorney general under the late former President George H.W. Bush, to replace Sessions. Barr is awaiting Senate confirmation. Barr has criticized Mueller as well, specifically the lack of "balance" in the team of special counsel prosecutors. The majority of investigators appointed to the special counsel's office made significant political donations to Democratic candidates and causes, with a majority also registered as Democratic voters.

But according to a Wall Street Journal report this week, Barr also sent a 20-page memo to the Justice Department calling Mueller's Russia probe "legally unsupportable" and "potentially disastrous," specifically referring any inquiries into obstruction of justice. Barr reportedly wrote that line of inquiry was "fatally misconceived."

A date for Barr's Senate confirmation hearing has yet to be set.

How does the brain trust here feel about Trump deciding to pull out the troops in Syria?

Myself, I'm concerned about the decision, simply because the generals on the ground are saying that it's a bad move and Putin and Iran like it.

Admittedly I'm not privy to the intel on the ground so my worry's are only based on my gut. Won't we be throwing the Kurds under the bus? They've been fighting the same enemy's that we have for years.

What do the brainiacs here think?

Yes! Shut. It. Down.

Trump throws government funding deal into doubt, presses anew for border wall money
Alex Pappas By Alex Pappas | Fox News

Setting the record straight about a possible government shutdown: How much would it impact workers and Americans?
Senior fellow at The National Taxpayers Union Mattie Duppler busts government shutdown myths.

A potential deal on Capitol Hill to avert a government shutdown with a short-term spending measure hit a roadblock Thursday as the White House said President Trump “does not want to go further” with anything that does not include sought-after funding for border security.

“The president is having a meeting with Republican House members at noon today,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement. “At this moment, the president does not want to go further without border security, which includes steel slats or a wall. The president is continuing to weigh his options.”

Congress faces a Friday deadline to fund a portion of the government or risk a partial shutdown. Lawmakers had been at a standstill over the president’s demands for $5 billion to fund the border wall.

But the Senate late Wednesday approved an interim spending bill that would keep several key departments of the federal government funded through February and avert a partial shutdown. The measure passed by the Senate does provide a total of $1.6 billion for border security and funds other agencies at current levels through Feb. 8, but does not include new wall funding. It now heads to the House.

It remains unclear whether Trump would sign or veto the measure if the House approves it, but the Thursday statement signaled Trump may seek changes. The statement comes after House conservatives fumed over the stopgap measure -- and its lack of new wall funding -- with some calling for putting a bill on the floor for a vote that includes Trump’s desired $5 billion for the wall.

“The House Republican Conference is ready to fight on the wall. Let’s get the $5B vote on the floor - today!” Rep. Mark Walker tweeted.

The conservative Republican Study Committee also called for Republicans to “stand united in calling for funding for the border wall. One of our last acts of this Congress should be fulfilling this key mandate demanded by the American people.”

House Freedom Caucus Chair Rep. Mark Meadows leading the charge for President Trump to veto the stopgap spending billVideo
House Freedom Caucus Chair Mark Meadows, R-N.C., told Fox News late Wednesday that "the political fallout will start" soon and that Trump risks doing “major damage” to his re-election effort in 2020 if a spending deal without border funding is approved.

When asked if the president should veto any stopgap funding bill that does not include money for the border wall, Meadows replied “yes.” He added that the "mistake" Republicans had made was that "we didn’t bring up the bill last week when we had the votes."

House Republicans, meanwhile, are generally frustrated about the lack of clarity. One GOP member told Fox News there was a “lack of direction, lack of message” from the White House about what they are for and against.

Republican members are worried about their political exposure if they relent after campaigning on building a wall.

“We stuck our neck out for border security,” said one senior House Republican.

Another source in the House GOP conference told Fox News that members want assurances from Trump on what he will or won’t sign before they vote on anything.

Signs of trouble first emerged when a House Republican press conference was abruptly canceled Thursday morning.

A lawmaker who was in Thursday morning's Republican conference meeting said House Speaker Paul Ryan abruptly exited the meeting, telling members the president was on the phone. Moments later, he canceled what could have been his final press conference, before leaving for the White House meeting.

Meanwhile, Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi said Democrats will support the measure.

“This is a missed opportunity to pass full-year funding bills now," she said. "However, Democrats will be ready to fully, responsibly fund our government in January, and we will support this continuing resolution.”

Fox News' Chad Pergram, Mike Emanuel, Peter Doocy, Samuel Chamberlain and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
