...eye of the beholder, I guess. Ben Shaprio said on his show today that the left was freaking out because the parent company of all of the news stations in the youtube clip is conservative, and they think this a right wing/Trump effort. Based on the content of the message, it sound like neither left nor right to me - just local stations trying to promote themselves in an age of cable/internet news.

It must be dependant on where you live. I have never gotten a single delivery via an Amazon contractor. And I just checked, I placed 60 orders in 2017. Most come via USPS. Some via UPS. Collecting dust.

Obviously. I cannot imagine Amazon hiring a contractor to deliver a few packages a day to a small town 100 miles from the nearest large city. ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans …. Most of mine are USPS or UPS, I think I"ve seen one or two contractors and that's it, but we do have them working here.

Amazon will be doing it's own distribution and delivery soon enough cutting out UPS, Fed Ex and USPS. Going to hurt those company's in a big way. Unless Trump drops the hammer on the entire Amazon empire that is. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

Isn't that just perfect? National Security McCabe will shut down GoFundMe page, which raised more than $538,000 for his legal defense Andrew McCabe’s team launched a GoFundMe campaign on Thursday, initially saying they hoped to raise $150,000 to help cover the ousted FBI deputy director’s legal costs. The fund far exceeded its goal within hours. (Eric Thayer/Reuters) By Matt Zapotosky April 2 at 11:59 AM Email the author Ousted FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe is shutting down his online campaign to raise money for a legal-defense fund, after taking in more than a half-million dollars in donations, his spokeswoman announced Monday. Melissa Schwartz, McCabe’s spokeswoman, said McCabe’s GoFundMe site will stop accepting contributions as of 7 p.m. Monday. She said the money, which “more than tripled” the original goal, would soon be transferred to a more formal legal defense trust. As of 11:30 a.m., the fund had raised more than $538,000. In a statement, McCabe said he “never imagined that I would need to rely on this type of assistance,” but the support “has been simply overwhelming and has led to contributions that have left us stunned and extraordinarily grateful.” “Hopefully our efforts, fueled by this incredible support, will encourage others to stand up for themselves, and the truth, as well,” he said. “It is not lost on me that each contribution reflects not just someone’s well wishes, but also their acknowledgment that something in this situation is not fair or just.” McCabe, the former No. 2 official at the FBI who took over as acting director when President Trump fired James B. Comey, had been a lightning rod in the bureau’s controversial investigations of Hillary Clinton and the Trump campaign, but his termination last month has made him a household name. Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe just 26 hours before he could retire and begin collecting his full retirement benefits, bringing McCabe’s more than 20-year career in the bureau to an ignominious end. Sessions said his decision was based on findings by the Justice Department inspector general, who found McCabe authorized a media disclosure and misled investigators about it, as well as a recommendation from the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility that McCabe should be removed. But McCabe had by then been a frequent target of Trump’s criticism, and he alleged that his removal was politically motivated and meant to undermine the FBI and its investigation into whether Russia coordinated with Trump’s campaign. McCabe’s team on Thursday launched a GoFundMe campaign, initially saying they hoped to raise $150,000 to help cover legal costs McCabe would incur as he navigated congressional inquiries and explored whether he would sue over his abrupt ouster. The fund exceeded its goal within hours, fueled by small contributions. McCabe’s team has said that although he could lose substantial retirement benefits, the money raised will be used only to cover legal costs, and the rest will be donated to charity. https://www.washingtonpost.com...m_term=.053960da62b2 ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Statement by Attorney General Sessions on Today’s New Lawsuit Against the State of California Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued the following statement on the Department of Justice’s new lawsuit against the State of California: “I regret the need to file yet another lawsuit against the state of California today. The Department of Justice is fighting every day to take illegal guns and drugs off our streets, combat the opioid epidemic and secure our borders from drug traffickers and criminal aliens, and protect our national security from radical Islamic extremists and foreign threats to our cyber security. But once again, we see that too many of our resources are being diverted to deal with meritless and unnecessary lawsuits. “We are forced to spend our resources to bring these lawsuits against states like California that believe they are above the law and are passing facially unconstitutional laws specifically intended to interfere with the federal government’s ability to carry out its legitimate law enforcement duties. And we are forced spend our resources to defend against lawsuits that are patently meritless like one now filed by California claiming that adding back a question on citizenship to the census is unconstitutional after decades of its inclusion. Both of these lawsuits are forcing us to spend precious tax payer dollars and Department resources to litigate issues that most Americans believe are common sense—the executive branch should be able to remove criminal aliens from a jail instead of your neighborhood, the federal government should have an accurate count of who can legally vote in our federal elections, a Department should be able to rescind an unlawful policy intended to usurp Congress’ role in passing immigration laws, or that the President should be able to know who is coming into our country from countries that are terrorist havens. “The waste is compounded by ideological judging and forum shopping that drags these cases out for months and years. In the meantime, the federal government can be prevented from carrying out its lawful duties by a single district court judge regardless of how many of the other 600 plus district court judges may disagree. The increasing frequency of limitless injunctions is simply unsustainable, and the ever-more extreme nature of these injunctions is only making it more obvious just how unlawful they are. This is not a political or a partisan issue. It is a constitutional issue and a rule of law issue and, more frequently now, a question of how we are allocating our tax payer dollars—to protecting Americans from violent crime and a raging drug epidemic or defending frivolous lawsuits from partisan actors. “Government-by-litigation isn’t what the American people voted for and attempting to thwart an administration’s elected agenda through endless, meritless lawsuits is a dangerous precedent.”

Conveniently located directly above the center of the Earth |
I'm near that small town. The carriers tell me they carry 'certain size' parcels for such as UPS etc during heavy package times, adding to normal rural delivery loads. When over come by too many piles, the USPS hires one of the regular carriers on special assignment, who then focuses on the package delivery, independent of whatever the actual mail is doing. **************~~~~~~~~~~ "I've been on this rock too long to bother with these liars any more." ~SIGforum advisor~ "When the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of change, then change will come."~~sigmonkey

Paul Manafort filed to have his charges dismissed because Mueller did not have "authority" to address those charges. This was based on the publicly available letter from Rosenstein that established Mueller as special counsel. In the Mueller reply to that file to dismiss, Mueller says there was a classified memo from 2 Aug 2017 that he should investigate allegations that Manafort was "colluding with Russian government officials" to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. Mueller was also empowered by Rosenstein to investigate Manafort's payments from Ukrainian politicians A redacted copy of the 2 Aug memo and supporting documentation is at this link: https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/03...ug-2-memo/index.html warning: it is almost 300 pages long The 2 Aug 2017 memo itself is only 3 pages long. It is at the beginning and the end of the pdf. Will take a while to digest this. But one key point is that the 2 Aug memo has significant redactions (black out) of other "specific investigations involving specific individuals" Here is the 2 Aug memo (w/o the large sections of blacked out redactions) adding: this means, since we don't know what was redacted, that we have very limited insight into Mueller's investigation responsibilities as assigned by Rosenstein.

Trump: We Will Guard Our Border With Our Military President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the US military will be used to guard the US-Mexico border. “We are going to be guarding our border with our military. That’s a big step,” Trump told reporters gathered at the White House. “We cannot have people flowing into our country illegally, disappearing, and by the way never showing up for court.” The President’s comments appear to take aim at current US policy which requires border agents to catch then release family units who arrive at the border from noncontiguous countries. He also said he had spoken with Secretary of Defense James Mattis about the use of the military to guard the border. In recent days, Trump has repeatedly tweeted about a caravan of illegal immigrants making their way from Honduras to the US border via Mexico. The President had threatened to end the NAFTA agreement if the Mexican government did not stop the caravan and to end U.S. aid to Honduras. Mexican authorities responded to Trump’s Sunday threat to kill NAFTA by pledging to disband the caravan and allow some people traveling to apply for asylum in Mexico. The organizers, however, said many members of the group will continue marching north towards the US-Mexico border where, if they claim asylum and are with a family unit, they legally must be released into the interior of the country. Later in the press spray, Trump claimed that “nobody has been tougher” on Russia than his his administration. “We’ll find out whether or not we do. If we could all get along, that would be great, and that includes China and includes many other countries,” POTUS explained. “But we will see what happens. Only time will tell,” he said. “Pretty much everybody agrees to that, except very stupid people.” Link

doesn't bother me in the least - when you have a caravan of people heading north unimpeded, its time to put the military on the border we spend all this money on national defense, its time we actually defend the nation here at home as well as abroad [B] Against ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC
