I have to be in OK for work on election day.
Planning on doing the same, I WFH on Wednesdays, so I'll be planning on hitting the polls then (10/23)

I mailed my ballot in yesterday. I won't say just who all I voted for, but I think most folks on this forum have a good idea.

I will wait a few days and then check to be sure it was received and counted.

Come on all of you good folks and vote for our next President!!

Ten Days

Odds of a Trump victory improve by the day. Even our enemies acknowledge this, and they are in a panic.

Think about where we are right now. Many elections are quickly forgotten and in order to cite any facts about them, one must refer to history books.

You will long remember these days. There will be no need to struggle to dredge up the memory of where we are right now, little more than a week from the pivotal day.

We are suspended in mid-air, yet to land, but land we shall. Right now, on the eve of this battle, many things are possible and if all goes wrong, we may yearn to come back and live in this moment, with the contest undecided.

I am fully grounded in reality at the possible outcomes, so that I can remain on my feet for come what may.

I believe we will be victorious, but, win or lose, I will not be defeated.

Don't let anyone sway you. Our enemies are trying to discourage us, and some of our friends are doing the same, whether or not they realize it. They tell us that our enemies are all-powerful, and that there are too many of them. They tell us that we cannot win. It is not so. We can win, and I believe that we will win.

The working class people of this nation are fed up. They have had enough, seen enough, long endured the attempted destruction of the United States. They can no longer endure rampant inflation, open borders, and the clearly visible hatred of those who think themselves our betters. I believe that we will see in the next few days that our system can still work. It goes back to what I've said many times: things have to get worse before they can get better, and it seems that enough people in this country have just had it.

My expectation is that we likely will not have a definitive answer on the evening of November 5th, but the cheaters can delay the results only so long.

We will wait patiently for the inevitable, whatever that may be.

With a Trump victory, one of the most satisfying aspects will be to see how the celebrities who said they would leave the country, handle the outcome.
Most likely they will claim the results aren’t legitimate and therefore they’re not obligated to leave.
The next 11 days should be interesting.

I have avoided political conversations wholly this election cycle. I will vote how I have since 1980 when we put Reagan in office, and I will deal with whatever the outcome is. I cannot recall ever voting D for any reason.

A highlight was when I met Ronald Reagan, for a very brief moment at a rally in 1984 at Los Angeles Pierce College, when he asked any veterans in the crowd to come forward. That was cool Smile

I completed my ballot today. I don't trust the mail and will be hand carrying it to our local village hall drop box on Monday.

I can't wait for Nov. 5. It's going to be a wonderful night! Smile

My Reserve Unit is being sent to DC on Friday so I took my soldiers from my county to vote today. Orders were cut Sunday. The others have to report on Weds with full kit and sent back on Friday 8 November.

I was surprised that we need to bring weapons. That has been a first.

Here is something interesting. I have a dear friend who happens to be a democrat. I'm not in her brain, but I am fairly confident she is more of the hippy kind versus the burn the world kind. Anyway, we were at an event at a polling place that was open for early voting. I said: "Hey they are voting next door, do you want to go vote with me?" She said: "No thanks, I am going to wait until election day to vote." We were less than 50 yards from casting a vote and she balked. I'm not saying she won't vote, but I can't help think that there is something to be said about not wanting to vote at the first opportunity.

Confused

Although rants about, um ... criticisms of alternative voting seem to have dried up for some reason, many people believe that early voting should be prohibited. Working out of town, having surgery that day, car in the shop and might not be fixed by then, afraid you might die before then, …? Well, too bad. If it’s worth it to you, you’ll find a way to stand in line with everyone else that day.

Perhaps she is just one of them.

I read this thread daily. My confidence level of Trump winning is definitely increasing. I am prepared for, but not expecting a Kamala victory. Reality checks are a very good thing IMO.

Going back to Para's first post on page one: I bought that firearm I've been contemplating. Sons Of Liberty Gun Works makes some good gear...was looking at other brands of AR carbine, turned around and the SOLGWs beckoned to me.

I too picked up a SOLGW last week. It was pre-owned but looked unused. I got it for a song.

It's a buyers' market right now, especially for ARs. That could very well change in a week or two. If there's a nice deal on an AR you want, and you can afford it, get it.

They are vital for maintaining one's perspective and sanity.

All these times members have seen me admonish some member or other for expressing their doubts- asking them where is there white flag, telling them to display courage and so forth- One might get the impression that I consider myself Some kind of BAMF standing on a heap of bodies as the victor in a bar fight.

It just ain't so. I want to share some things with you guys, that will help you understand the attitude I have regarding this and other elections.

Before the 2020 presidential election, I was certain, absolutely certain that not only was Donald Trump going to win re-election, but that he would win in a landslide. I said exactly that: "Gonna be a landslide."

I don't recall even considering the possibility that Biden might win. DC's perpetual assclown, for all the years he' been in Washington; a genuine buffoon.

Looking back now, a scant four years ago, it's remarkable to realize how very naive I was. I'm not a young man, but in terms of my expectations for the election, I might as well have been 19 years old, foolish as I could be.

So, after all my swagger and lack of caution, when defeat came, I was crushed. I was utterly astonished, gobsmacked.

In the aftermath, I didn't know what to say here in the forum. It's not so much that I was embarrassed. I just didn't have anything to say. I didn't want to talk about it here or anywhere. So, that's what I did- I said nothing, for quite some time. I monitored the forum each day, of course, but for all practical purposes, I was not here.

I don't recall how long it was. It was two or three weeks, probably, perhaps longer. It was long enough for members to take notice and comment about it. At a time I should have been here, to talk to members and deal with matters as a mature adult, I was off, licking my wounds, mad at the world.

When I finally did show up, I declared to all here that I was now and forever finished with politics, and that I would never again partake in political discussions. Mind you, I wasn't prohibiting the discussion of politics, but I was so completely disillusioned, I was done.

When a couple of members laughed it off and told me that I would change my mind in time, I told them that that wouldn't be happening, and that I was serious. Well, I was serious. I meant what I said.

Not my finest hour

As anyone here can see, those who told me that I would come around were right, and I was wrong.

Since that time, my attitude and expectations have changed and I am fully grounded in reality and I want the members and readers of this forum to know that the attitude I now take- that of defiance in the face of our enemies, but without the unrealistic belief that we cannot lose merely because truth and right is on our side, is the example I wish to set, and when I taunt members to run their underwear up a flag pole since they've already surrendered before the battle is fought, it is not to be cruel, but rather to help people here find the courage which is in them already; to help them set aside the doubt and to bring out the beast they possess, and display the courage to tear our enemies asunder.

Yes, thank you.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
