Don’t be discouraged. If people don’t want to post comments, you can’t stop them. Somebody needs to take over this gig when I go away. That day is coming up sooner than you can imagine. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. sjtill and JALLEN: I have have often been grateful for the wisdom you both post. Perhaps when people so consistently post thusly people take it for granted. Fortunately, wisdom is no less valuable in life when it is rare or underappreciated. Jim, I understand you are very sick. Many of us know your posts likely come at great effort given your condition. Please know your thoughts, posts, and wisdom are always appreciated.

This article discusses the DEM strategy to protect DEM senators Heitkamp, Donnelly, and Manchin. The DEMs want to avoid a Senate vote on Brett Kavanaugh. They are pulling all their dirty tricks to get him to drop out. https://thehill.com/homenews/s...cenario-on-kavanaugh Senate Democrats up for reelection this year in deep-red states face a nightmare decision on how to handle Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Vulnerable Democrats are hoping Republicans will force him to withdraw his nomination, allowing them to avoid politically divisive votes. The Democrats in the toughest position are Sens. Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Joe Donnelly (Ind.) and Joe Manchin (W.Va.). Heitkamp and Manchin are undecided, and both are seeking another six-year term in states that Trump won by double digits in 2016 Donnelly is in much the same boat but said on Friday that he would vote ‘no’ on Kavanaugh. All three voted for President Trump’s first Supreme Court pick, Neil Gorsuch, in 2017. One Democratic senator, who requested anonymity, said there’s hopeful talk within the Senate Democratic caucus that Kavanaugh will drop out, even though he has adamantly vowed to stay. The lawmaker said Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) is urging undecided centrist Democrats to wait until three undecided Republicans — Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Jeff Flake (Ariz.) — make their positions known. “He’s telling them, ‘Keep your powder dry.’ That means you don’t have to decide this -- wait and see how it plays out. There’s some speculation that Kavanaugh may not last,” the lawmaker said. “They always vow to stay right until they don’t.” A second Democratic senator said there’s widespread disbelief in the caucus that Kavanaugh is holding on. One previously undecided Democrat, Sen. Jon Tester (Mont.), who is up for reelection in a state Trump won by 20 points, came out against Kavanaugh the day after the nominee’s angry rebuttal of Ford’s allegation xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx West Virginia voters want Brett Kavanaugh confirmed with a margin of 58% – 28% DEM Senator McCaskill (MO) has already said she will vote against Brett Kavanaugh. She is in a tight race with REP Josh Hawley. We need to get Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court and defeat as many of these treacherous lying DEMs as we can.

Another Shoddy ‘Perjury’ Claim https://www.nationalreview.com...hoddy-perjury-claim/ NBC suggests that Judge Kavanaugh may have lied in his Senate testimony when he said that he had not “discussed or heard discussion about the incident matching the description given by Ms. Ramirez to the New Yorker” before it was published on September 23. As usual, this allegation seems to be the product of some choice sophistry. On Twitter, @AG_Conservative runs through what NBC has done here. As AG notes, the accusation from NBC is as follows: the texts show Kavanaugh may need to be questioned about how far back he anticipated that Ramirez would air allegations against him. Berchem says in her memo that Kavanaugh “and/or” his friends “may have initiated an anticipatory narrative” as early as July to “conceal or discredit” Ramirez. Kavanaugh told the Senate Judiciary Committee under oath that the first time he heard of Ramirez’s allegation was in the Sept. 23 article in The New Yorker. But nothing Kavanaugh has said on the record contradicts that. Indeed, On September 25th, Kavanaugh answered the following question under oath: [Redacted Questioner]: All right. My last question on this subject is since you graduated from college, but before the New Yorker article publication on September 23rd, have you ever discussed or heard discussion about the incident matching the description given by Ms. Ramirez to the New Yorker? Judge Kavanaugh: No. If this were his only answer, it could at a stretch be cast as misleading — although it would be a big stretch, given that he was asked whether he’d heard about an “incident matching the description.” But — surprise! — this wasn’t his only answer. Just one page on in the transcript, Kavanaugh takes a break from protesting his innocence to tell the committee that he had heard that Ramirez was calling around before the specific accusation was made public: [Redacted Questioner]: Well, actually, are you aware that the New York Times passed up on this story before the New Yorker ran the story? Judge Kavanaugh. That’s what I read in the New York Times. What’s your reaction to that? Judge Kavanaugh: They couldn’t — the New York Times couldn’t corroborate this story and found that she was calling around to classmates trying to see if they remembered it. And I, at least — and I, myself, heard about that, that she was doing that. And you know, that just strikes me as, you know, what is going on here? When someone is calling around to try to refresh other people, is that what’s going on? What’s going on with that? That doesn’t sound — that doesn’t sound good to me. It doesn’t sound fair. It doesn’t sound proper. It sounds like an orchestrated hit to take me out. That’s what it sounds like. “And I, at least — and I, myself, heard about that, that she was doing that.” _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." That just makes me smile. Schumer knows, or guesses, they are going to lose the vote. Collins remains the key, and Trump has been in close contact with her with regard to what she wants out of this "supplemental" investigation. Kavanaugh is NOT dropping out. They will vote when McConnell decides it's time... hopefully by the end of the week! "Some things are apparent. The thing that really gets me is that elected officials no longer even hide that they're "gaming the system" or more accurately, "gaming their constituents". The fact that you have a Senator that will only vote the way of their constituents is if it doesn't matter to the overall vote is so frustrating. The fact that these people are not going bat-shit crazy to get their Senator to step-up and do the right thing prior to having to vote is crazy. Not voting until you're the 98th vote so that you can game the constituent is utter BS. Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed. Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists. Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

Jim, You remind me a lot of a “radio guy “ I used to listen to named Bruce Williams. Guy had done many things in life, was a pilot and was a hell of a business mind. People would call in and he would be like the helpful Uncle we could all use as we navigate life. He wasn’t afraid to tell them when their plan had a flaw and I’m sure saved many thousands of dollars if they were smart enough to listen. That’s how I view you and your advice. Folks may not like the message but they ignore it at their own peril. Nothing like a lifetime of experience from someone who has done it well. Really enjoy your interesting and intelligent posts. Here is to many more of them.

That is a good point there about the porn star. So what? Was he private citizen DJT or as President DJT did he coerce a young intern (subordinate) into sexual relations during his time in office? Then lie about it? What Bill Clinton did while in office would get me and others here terminated from anyplace we have ever worked that had a sexual harassment policy. But the Democrats were and are still willing to give him a pass on it. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. They’re not admitting it yet, but the Kavanaugh overreach is a looming disaster for the Democrats’ hopes of capturing the Senate. https://spectator.org/the-dems-midterm-mess/ "Some things are apparent.
