Grassley successfully pushed the whole thing to the floor.

Yes. Grassley handled this unforeseen development just right. Bravo, Chairman Grassley!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."

I never said it was pretty, then again I don’t know if we have any previous Senators, Representatives, or staffers here to tell us all the ins and outs of the process... Wink

Oh and I would bet money that Flake took some kind of compensation for his change of heart. Perhaps one of the networks he is trying to get a job with upped the signing bonus? Wouldn't put it past him one bit.

Low risk prediction that at the end of this “one week pause for additional investigation,” no Dems will vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh (with the possible exception of Joe Manchin).

Judiciary confirmation process has been irreversibly damaged for years to come.

the process can be repaired by the elimination of the current democrat members on the committee

someone got to Flake, and they're blackmailing him

look at the photo on the Fox News page - he does not seem particularly happy

I suppose that he thinks he will get a warm reception when he comes back to AZ - I wouldn't count on it

its time for conservatives to do to democrats what they did to Kavanaugh

seek and destroy

No, the correction is eliminate the Ds as an electorate.

Crush them this fall, then crush them again in 2020 and beyond.

I think Flake just kicked the can to the full senate. I don't want a week long delay. Flake just needs to nut up and vote yes and explain to his Dem friends that he asked for the investigation.

I want this nomination and a third one. Then maybe I'll be happy and satisfied with all this winning. My teeth is on edge with anticipation.

I'm neutral on the Roe v Wade thing; I feel women can have an abortion as long as it's not on my dime. I do think it's morally wrong but I also think it's morally wrong for people to destroy their lives with alcohol or gambling but you don't see me protesting against those things. I was askance when Trump was saying same sex marriage was settled but roe v wade was not. Now, I think I see what he meant by that comment.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Guys, take a breath, Flake ran the clock down so the vote could get pushed to the floor. Don't think so negatively.

Like I said, I wish someone could post the very end of the session, where DiFi has no clue what just happened, it's hilarious. Grassley is no dummy.

The Democrats have changed the discussion and narrative of this hearing from:

The Democrats are dirty, morally bankrupt connivers ready to destroy Judge Kavanaugh for political purposes. And they got caught.

To: This needs an FBI investigation.

The press will run with this and the Democrats dirty deeds are back in the shadows.

We're good here. It's out of committee and Mitch can crack the whip.

Nothing Flake said today couldn't have been said after sending the nomination to the floor anyways. This weekend will be a wild one but I bet we see a vote this week, sans an FBI investigation.

Flake did enough to get this out of committee and that's what matters now.

He didn't kick it down the can down the road, he kicked it into DiFi's face, hahaha!

Just remember, Trump won and we did it.

No one has agreed to that, not Grassley and certainly not McConnell.

Seriously? The committee just said yes to a full floor vote! Come on man, that is great news and a great relief, I bet, for BK and his whole family and friends and vindication that he is not only the right man for the job, but a good man!

Heres a link with video that shows the exchange between Grassley and Difi when he ended the comittee hearing. Difi acts like she was just blind-sided by a dump truck...
