Any publicity is good publicity. Now people who've never been to a crackle barrel know the new logo and the place is fresh in everyone's mind. Might generate sales with this new unpopular rebrand anyways. Some may go just to see how ugly it is now. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

It started way before the CEO with commie glasses came along. The gay guy played the long game to destroy company values he disagreed with. https://www.foxbusiness.com/me...ess-advisory-council
And this guy didn't even like Cracker Barrel when he first joined because he thought the brand was homophobic. Cracker Barrel has been on the DEI teat for years, perhaps coincidentally when their food and service started to slide downhill. Putting more emphasis on identity politics and on hiring and promoting blacks, hispanics and gays instead of merit does not equal a better product, in fact quite the opposite. Exactly like Bud Light, throwing the original customer base under the bus while trying to look stylish is a stupid business model. If CB as a company concentrated on the best employees and staying on top of producing good food at good value, they wouldn't be in this mess. Hell, even Chilis in recent years dug themselves out of a hole by concentrating on better food and service. Yes, that’s totally working out. That’s the reason why their stock is tanking. But, surely, just like communism, all they need is to alienate their customer base just a little more to be rolling in the cash. It’s not because they have made a mess of things, it’s our fault for not be accepting and diverse enough. ________________ People hate you. Train like it.

Jaguar stopped building cars last year as it converts its production lines over the next year or so to EV production. That’s why sales dropped.

| What is the soup du jour? |
Yes, I’ve heard it speculated some of the hyper woke trends were simply to mask poor business decisions, but considering the cost of the rebranding, I don’t believe that’s the case here. Jaguar had already made the commitments to its “green” self destruction before the androgynous rebrand. CB might have been flat or doing poorly, but to then burn $700 million in rebranding, only to shame itself, doesn’t really parallel with Jaguar. Now, if you were intentionally trying to repay favors or get kickbacks in the costly $700 million rebrand, I could see that. But, I think that’s giving them too much credit. I just think they’re arrogant idiots.

Sorry but no one shuts down production for a YEAR to "retool" for new product. No automative company can survive a year with no revenue. As someone with decades of experience in the industry, with a ton of experience installing new lines and retooling existing ones, I can tell you with certainty that the industry has developed all kinds of ways to enable current production to continue while tooling up for new production. So I simply don't buy Jaguar's excuses, and either way they are being managed very poorly.

100% agree. Market share is a BIG metric in sales. SalesForce [Evil incarnate] is loved by Corporate HQ. It loves crunching #s and identifying what is missing. Cracker Barrel bread and butter customer based was probably seniors and family dinner out night... The total #'s of that metric likely dwindled to a level where they simply cannot tolerate their underperforning #s with the average Ruby Tuesdays / TGI Fridays / Chilis customer base market. They have to do something to improve their share of that metric. Even if they loose 10% of their traditional market share, the increase will make up the difference and then some. My $0.02: Unless you get traditional breakfast or burger/steak; everything at CB just seemed like a higher end microwave dinner to me... We only went there when the parents came over and wanted to eat out at a place with a broad menu (And the grandparents and younger kids liked the gift shop).

The rebranding happens because the CEO and all of her peers are leftist DEI true believers, as are the institutional fund managers that own most of the stock. Trust me, women (and feminized men) like this are vindictive and incapable of tolerating contrasting points of view, so all of the data to justify their actions was curated from underlings that wouldn't dare deviate from the narrative. They DON'T LIKE their customers or brand image because it appeals to people they think are morally and culturally inferior. So they DON'T CARE about the existing customers while they chase the people they prefer. This is what happened at Bud Lite and Harley Davidson. I'm seeing the same shit happen in hard core technical areas where the women in charge are not qualified, able, or experienced to do any of the actual work. If you tell them their hair-brained ideas won't work, they try to destroy you with behind the scenes reputation destruction. Then when the results show their ideas don't work, they have conveniently set themselves up to side-step responsibility and blame the people who tried to tell them it was a bad idea in the first place! I shudder to think how bad it is in soft areas marketing.
