Here’s the poop:

Remodel is not woke.
Rebranding may be woke (removing image of old white guy).

But, a couple years ago they did put out rainbow colored rocking chairs to celebrate “Pride month”.

I think people are subconsciously remembering the rainbow rockers and assuming the remodel is woke.

I don't think it's that at all. I think it's because the food looks like and tastes like shit, the service is horrible and very slow. If I'm going to eat reheated left overs, I can stay at home and eat my wifes....food. We used to go there all the time. Haven't been there in a few years now. Last time was in Alabama. Walked in and found every single table was loaded with dirty dishes except for the four or five tables that were occupied by customers. The place has taken a downturn no matter where you are.

I like old time diners. Cracker Barrel food is a corporate take on diner food. It has more salt and fat and isn't near as good as most diner food.

I have eaten at Cracker Barrel perhaps 5 times in my life. Nothing about the food, service or decor makes me want to return. The only reason I ate there was hunger and no better option.

IMHO Cracker Barrel is designed for a certain demographic. The food and kitsch design has no appeal to younger demographics. Rebranding won't be sufficient, I believe it will take a complete overhaul to be successful. Just getting the smell of scented candles out of the place will be a substantial undertaking.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

The food prepared at Cracker Barrel is, by design, soft, bland and served warm. Most (not you, we know you like spicy food) older people are happy with easy to eat, not too hot or spicy comfort style food. Easy on the dentures, easy on the stomach and the price is easy to digest.

I went in the other night with the wife. It's probably the last time, despite the rebranding fiasco.

The wait staff were hanging around the kitchen door, talking and bullshitting while people needed drink refills and food was getting cold. The meal was much worse than previous visits. I'm done with them.

Comes out of a plastic bag.
Cut, pour into warmer, holding tray, convection oven or steamer.
Make sure said device is plugged in.

Alright, I'm hearing chatter from behind the scenes about the Cracker Barrel campaign and, on second thought: we must break the Barrel. It's not about this particular restaurant chain—who cares—but about creating massive pressure against companies that are considering any move that might appear to be "wokification." The implicit promise: Go woke, watch your stock price drop 20 percent, which is exactly what is happening now.

There was a few companies a couple of years ago that tried to take advantage of an agenda...it hurt them.
There was also an election that spoke about companies and other public-facing companies pushing certain agendas, it produced some encouraging results.
Now, here's this company and its leadership that clearly didn't get the message.

This strikes me as nothing more than "change" for the sake of "change" that liberal "change agents" are so fond of doing. Roll Eyes They just can't seem to leave well enough alone. Most of us think, "If it ain't broke don't fix it". Leftists think, "If it ain't broke, break it".

The taking Aunt Jemima off the box because she was a black woman and (gasp) a cook/slave...now that was woke. This ain't that.

And the lame-ass "Pearl Milling Company" to replace her. And Uncle Ben's rice.

The black chef on the Cream of ___ hot cereals appears to be largely gone, too. The ironic one is the Indian maiden on Land-O-Lakes butter. They got rid of the Indian and kept the land. Big Grin

This whole Cracker Barrel shitshow is woke bullshit, no doubt. It is NOT merely "change" in the true sense, but Obama's definition of the word.

We're using this word wrong. Some of you throw it around the way the left does "racist." It's becoming meaningless. We have people in this thread ready to boycott Cracker Barrel because they changed out the seating and slapped on a fresh coat of paint for fuck's sake.

I've seen guys on this very forum very recently bemoaning the lack of critical thinking that's become prevalent. I feel like it's only the right thing to point it out here.

Congratulations demorrhoids, you have destroyed corporate America.

We ate at Cracker Barrel a lot on our RV trips. They had food our kids would eat and parking to accommodate our 60’ of truck and trailer. Never had a problem with the food or service.

My wife and I are BIG fans of Cracker Barrel. (Her favorite restaurant) We have four near us, the one up north was built in 2017, it has a newer look. We like it, matches the area that it is in.

We have eaten in Cracker Barrels all around the country and have never had a bad meal.

Four thumbs up for Cracker Barrel from us.
