One of the things I have learned in past years to do to people like this, is after ignoring them for a while, if they persist, I just start laughing at them and they usually storm off in a huff.
It drives them nuts.
You do have to be careful tho some of these people are or could be a little off and it can become violent.
I am so glad I live in Florida. I have yet to see or have this happen to anyone while I have been out living my life.

In the are I live if you want to wear a mask or not go ahead. No one is going to say anything.
I live near the big theme parks.
We have a lot of tourist from other parts of the country who are surprised when the find out Florida does not have some of the crazy mandates like where they are from.

From several years of CBR work in the army, the only thing that will stop a virus is a military grade gas mask, with filters designed to stop viruses. I have noticed around here that seemingly about 3/4 of the people have stopped wearing the masks.

If you start coughing in their direction without covering is that considered assault?

The increase in incidents as recorded and put on social media is a clue the maskers are now up against a wall.

They likely got vaxxed, were told it would be all ok, and now are jerked around with "NO, KEEP WEARING A MASK", "Sorry but getting Covid now just means the vaxx is working", "Natural immunity is proven superior", "The CDC was inflating the numbers." The final straw - predictions that it's all over soon and states in the US plus nations around the globe dropping all the drama.

They have no reason to live now [heavy irony.]

They are losing and it's a huge loss to their self esteem. So they reach out and scream at people who are enjoying life while they can't. it would mean revoking all the lies they accepted.

They will be maskers now until they take their last filtered breath. Like flat earthers, no amount of evidence will ever change them. And no, they do NOT believe in your right to Freedom, obviously.

Last year around this time I had to run into the supermarket with my two boys, then aged 6 and 4. No masks on them, it's just sad to see all these little children all muzzled up everywhere I go.

I half expected someone to say something but no one made a peep. I guess it helps to be a big burly guy, 6 feet, bald and bearded and with an expression like a girl in college once told me "you walk around with a LEAVE ME ALONE, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU" look on your face all the time.

And if my M-40 gas mask isn't deemed correct PPE by OSHA 29 CFR then a Hello Kitty cloth mask or a paper veil won't help stop a virus either.

I am in NE Oregon and the novelty of the mask has greatly worn off. I see people wearing them, and people not wearing them when I go to the grocery store.

I have never been confronted by a mask Karen. I don't wear one even though we have a thirty day mask mandate in our town now. Most I have ever gotten is maybe the stink eye from someone. Actually I get more knowing smiles from others who won't mask up.

If I ever do get confronted by a Karen I will not respond in any way that may escalate that person. The reason is I'm usually carrying. I will avoid any and all confrontation possible when I'm armed. I will walk away every time if possible. To me someone who willingly engages a complete stranger in a confrontation over a mask in a public setting is already unstable and provoking that person to escalate the situation could lead to all sorts of bad things happening. Often times these Karens aren't alone. They have husbands or boyfriends with them. I will let that person think they may have publicly humiliated me but I know nothing is further from the truth.

If you wear hearing aids you could always point to them and say, "I'm sorry, the batteries are dying. Would you mind writing your question for me?"
