Not a blunder per se, IIRC years ago, when I worked at a major grocery chain, I had to take all boxes of a particular brand of laundry detergent off the shelf, the lady pictured on the box turned out to be a porn star, someone recognized her.

^^^Who better to promote laundry detergent than a porn star? You'd think she'd be an expert on laundering clothing.

Too much truth and it hurt someone's feelings.

I could never find it, but I read about a car tv ad (Hyundai, maybe?) that featured a model resembling Princess Di surviving a car crash in a tunnel (riding in the featured auto). She winked at the camera at the end.

I'm not sure about the movie refernece but everytime I head back north I always pick up a few cases of Schlitz. Also few cases of Narragansett. Can't get that good stuff down south.

"Baby Daddy" is ebonics for a deadbeat father. It is not a term of endearment.

I hear what people are saying about New Coke, but I gotta propose the original Fresca as being at least the first runner up. People remember New Coke because of the hype preceding the rollout, but Fresca got pimped pretty aggressively for the time and it tasted so bad that it had to have been one of the great marketing disappointments of the 70's.

Fresca???

Son, I still keep a box of Nilla Wafers and a six pack of Tab in my desk drawer.

As a child of the '80's this is what dominates. Fresca? Ugg we kicked that out with New Coke. Wink

Yeah, but....it used to have that negative connotation. I'm not really even sure if it was ever negative. Baby momma, baby daddy, etc...big deal.

I know many people that jokingly refer to their spouse as their baby momma, or baby daddy. Hell, I call my wife that.

This is just probably one person being sensitive and ruining it for everyone. I would have loved a baby daddy card for Father's Day.
