"Do you smell gas, officer?"

Hope nobody got caught in that that didn't deserve it.

Where is it? On Fox? CNN? MSNBC?

No, it's on Twitter I SAID TWITTER

**edit** Oh, NOW they're getting it. FOX DC affiliate:

https://www.fox5dc.com/news/ex...d-ems-home-explosion

Twitter is "breaking news" these days, and that's a fact.
quote:
ARLINGTON, Va. - Community members in an Arlington neighborhood are being told to shelter in place after police say a flare gun was fired inside a home, causing a massive explosion.

Arlington County police put out the alert just after 8:15 p.m., saying the incident occurred in the 800 block of N. Burlington Street in the Bluemont neighborhood.

Police say as officers were attempting to execute a search warrant at the residence, a suspect fired several rounds inside the home, which led to the explosion.
A flare gun? Sounds like someone set off their cache.

Well shit….if that doesn’t bring up some memories of a bad night I had as a SWAT medic on a regional team….one night going after an armed and barricaded after a hostage was released we had a very similar encounter…in the blink of an eye I had seven severely injured officers dragged into the bearcat….we were very lucky to not have team member fatalities that night!
Hopefully no officers injured in that but I have my doubts watching it

Look at the news agencies in the comments urgently requesting permission to air the clip.

I'm telling you, boys and girls- get your "breaking news" from Twitter. They scoop everybody these days.

(However, I don't think he owns the rights to the clip.)

Additional video of the aftermath, shot from a distance.

That did not look like a gas explosion to me. I wonder if anything will be reported about who's involved and what caused the boom
?

Seems to me like a perfectly reasonable attempt to prevent ESPN, witches, and aliens from stealing his signals... Can't steal any signals if you blow all the signals up first, amiright?

Hopefully the crazy man only blew himself up, and not anyone else.

Though I think the Smiths are going to need a new place to live regardless. And I suspect there may be some hearing-related worker's comp claims forthcoming for Arlington PD.
