Interestng side note: those aren’t the only combinations that can produce a viable embryo. Take a look at the possibilities! Now, I’m not sure what the chances are of someone with a rare chromosomal disorder deciding to compete in a sport and actually being competitive are, but given the number of people in this country, I’m sure there is at least one. My only point in bringing this up is that, if you want to make ‘simple’ rules, you have to accept that there will be oddball corner cases where you have to make a judgement call, and those judgement calls may not be consistent. A number of states have addressed this issue and CT is one that truly hasn't. Some states say you compete with what's on your birth certificate however you have a very small group that is somewhat both sexes and the doctos and parents decide how to proceed. If they decide incorrectly then the kid has problems competing in some states. Other states are taking the approach that your hormone level is what determines whether you face as male or female and it's not just hormones alone but rather is it hormones in conjunction with transition procedures. Martina Navitralova got into big trouble wiht the LBTGQ+ crowd for suggesting that you can't self identify as one sex or the other and then compete but you need transformative medical evidence, such as hormone levels to answer the question. Notice how it's never girls that want to becomem boys on the competition circuit but rather boys who want to make the change. For purposes of argument, I'll concede that there are legit people who might cross identify however for competition you need hormone levels to figureit out. | |||
