Yes, there are separate classes for men and women in archery. As much as some would like to pretend, men and women are not equal. Men generally are bigger and stronger. They can pull a heavier draw weight on a bow and they can hold a bow with a heavier mass weight steadier for a longer period of time.

That said, The Vegas Shoot which is the biggest indoor archery tournament in the world, has allowed women to compete in the Championship Open Divisions against men for the last 2 seasons. Some have competed, but so far none have made the podium.

Like I said, as much as some would like to pretend, men and women are not equal. It's not just physical, it's in the mentality and how they approach competition. We see it in archery all the time. The high performing archers in the men's divisions compete against each other, but they respect each other. They may give each other crap but they still respect each other. You'll also see them working as mentors and mentors in their own division. Even when they don't like each other they can look at each other and say, "You're an asshole.", but they will still respect each other and compete fairly.

Women, not so much. They get caddy, mean and downright vindictive. We've seen it happen on several high performing teams, they will single out the best archer then conspire to try and bring her down. While we've seen it rarely on the men's side, equipment tampering has been much more common on the women's side. Men do not seem to have a problem competing against each other win or lose. With women it gets to be much more personal.

I can only imagine how the female teams are reacting to the transgendered athletes. I have a feeling it will get downright ugly before long.

I remember that back in 1977, the day after transgender tennis player Renee Richards won her lawsuit and was allowed to enter the U.S. Open, Johnny Carson said in his monologue, “They’re even creating a new division for her—-‘Mixed Singles.’”

That got a big laugh from the audience. Today, that joke would have immediately ended Carson’s career.

Level the playing field. One race for all comers.

The young man needs to shave his mustache if he wants to fit in better. You can tell he's developing into a pretty solid and muscular kid compared to the other freshman girls. I fully support a girl who wants to run against the best athletes in the world, not just the best girls. If she gets smoked and goes back and works harder then good on her.

We all know what will happen. The militant female SJW's will decide to eliminate sports as the only "fair" thing to do. I would love to see Title 9 gutted. I don't think the PGA, NBA, MLB and the NFL have any rules that say you have to be a boy. I think some good second tier male athletes need to sue to play in the LPGA & the WNBA and just dominate it. Maybe then we can show just how STUPID this shit is.

While we are making things fair it seems to me that there are several classes of people that are severely under represented in the NBA. Seems like we have the makings of a good civil rights case. I continue to hear that diversity is a good thing. I'm all about a NBA team being required to have a certain number of hispanic, and white, and short, and fat people on the team.

Practical shooting has seen some recent controversy where some of the top female personalities have been complaining to upper management in USPSA about transgendered shooters creeping up on the "high lady" awards.

If you don’t have some protocol like that, you will have people abusing the process by “transbagging” and soaking up all the sweet, sweet hi-lady awards.
USPSA is to be applauded for exploring other options, like the trans-friendly Carry Optics division, which allows men who may have no other avenue a social outlet to explore the feminine side other their personalities without reassignment surgery.
