Barrett. She has experience with the confirmation process. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

While I would love to see Cruz nominated (I voted for him in the primary) I think Trump will nominate a woman and Barrett is about as far from RBG as you can get ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

Either Barrett or Lagoa for the win. Conservative catholic or conservative Cuban-American. I'd like to see more of Logoa's opinions on the 2A though. While I'd be happy with Barrett or Cruz, the right pick is Lagoa. Hispanic (helps in Florida and Arizona, and other places as well) Woman (helps everywhere) Parents fled communist Cuba (she knows evil) Just confirmed by the Senate 80 to 15 in October 2019 Trump needs Cruz in the Senate, both for this confirmation vote and because that vacuous fuck Beto nearly won in Texas last election. Lagoa for me. Checks 2 boxes to really stick it to them dem assholes. If they don't confirm her, they're the racists and sexists. _____________

I like Lagoa, but at 52yrs old I'd like to see someone a little younger. I like Kate Todd. She's young, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, and was exec. editor of the Harvard Law Review. Rising to that level of success in a bastion of liberalism says a lot about her character.

Would like it to be Lagoa. Rushing would be my top pick, but she'd probably get rejected for being too young. _______________________ “The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Eliminate the men, Trump already stated a few times it WILL be a woman. I chose Barrett for the win. Been vetted by the Senate for her seat on the 7th Circuit a few years ago. By all appearances, a solid Constitutionalist. So does Lagoa, and she was confirmed with overwhelming bipartisan support. I think she received about 80 votes for confirmation. Barrett received about 53.
I would like to know more about Lagoa too. .

It's not going to be Barrett this time at least - going to be Lagoa. Some decent analysis by lawyers that kind of makes sense. He gets into the pick at around 16:00

I voted for Barret, but always liked Janice Rogers Brown too. I know she retired recently and is too old now anyway (71), but she was rock solid on both property rights and the danger of ever-expanding government. Bush should have picked her instead of that milquetoast Roberts! _____________________________________________________________________ “One of the common failings among honorable people is a failure to appreciate how thoroughly dishonorable some other people can be, and how dangerous it is to trust them.” – Thomas Sowell

I'ma go with Lagoa as his pick. As awesome as Barrett is, I bet Lagoa has wider appeal.

I would be very happy with either Barrett or Lagoa, but I think Lagoa has more attributes that make opposition and trickery difficult. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

Lagoa. A female who knows something about socialism and why it fails would be wise to have on the court.

Lagoa, for the added benefit of helping Trump win the election. “There is love in me the likes of which you’ve never seen. There is rage in me the likes of which should never escape." —Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

While I would really like it to be Barrett I agree that it seems likely to be Lagoa. Laughing in the face of danger is all well and good until danger laughs back.

I agree with ArtieS and Cliff... both Barrett or Lagoa would be good choices ... but it will likely be Lagoa. Cruz stays in the Senate. Win-Win. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

It’s certain to be a woman. Lagoa is pretty fresh to the federal bench. her lawyer husband is the head of the Florida federalist society. And she did pro bono worth for Elian González family during that fiasco. any current federal judge will be familiar with the process. I think it’s even money between ACB and Lagoa. With ACB having it the edge just because she’s been on the bench a bit longer. I do like the Latina angle in Florida, AZ even here in PRK.
