29 degrees, the problem here is everything is covered in 3-4 inches of ice. Life has come to a standstill, other than children on plastic sleds zooming down the hill. Sure is quiet with zero motor vehicles moving.

Here in the DFW area we woke up this morning (Sunday) to 14 degrees with a wind chill near zero. Possible snow tonight and VERY uncomfortable temps tomorrow and Tuesday.

I DO sympathize with people who don't see this weather often and aren't used to this stuff. I've been here since 1971, but lived in a whole lot of cold places earlier in life and spent 33 years refereeing hockey.

I remember what Mickey Rivers said after the home opener at Yankee Stadium one season in the '70s when the New York area was hit with a big cold snap and light snow. One of the sportswriters asked him what it felt like in the outfield during the game. Rivers replied, "It was so cold I saw a dog chasin' a cat on the warning track and they was walkin'."

Currently it's 11° but feels like 3°, 54% humidity, -3°dew point. Just got in from playing with the pups for the last hour and a half. They love this shit!

Luckily I was in the back yard and got the burn barrel going. So I wasn't that bad off.

It’s 24° here in Central Texas. It’s been that since last night.

Seen a lot of my neighbors on the FB page talking about removing you hose and covering your faucet.

I’ve got some news sunshine-it’s too late. And your sprinkler system vacuum breaker is gonna cost you about $500 to be replaced and certified.

16 now at 7pm. It was pretty nice this afternoon and with days getting longer it was still light out at 5:30 when I took this pic.
