I would love for a Democrat to explain WHY this doesn't make sense instead of just declaring it as a fact. If a billionaire and a teacher pay the same rates, but the billionaire pays it on a lot more income, then the billionaire will pay a lot more in taxes than the teacher. Why does that not make sense?

What doesn't make sense is the government arbitrarily deciding that high income earners have less need for or are less deserving of their money.

You make more, you pay more. That makes sense and is fair. A flat tax rate accomplishes that goal.

But in the end they WILL pay though. Through lost jobs or higher prices as those 'wealthy' business owners pass on the costs of those added taxes. Higher rents on apartments. And let's be real, the people making over $250 are bosses. They make the decisions. I'll be you the following happens in almost all companies:

Wages stay stagnant for the rank and file. Those making over $250k get raises to cover the cost of the increased taxes so that their take home isn't affected. I'd do this for employees I had making over $250k so that I didn't risk them leaving my state and thus company.

That means the middle class folks won't see a penny in raises for a couple years until I have my top earners protected.

In the end, I'd cover all bets that the rich are barely effected at all. Those who are will move.

... and if you want to pay your "fair share" so badly, why do you go to such elaborate lengths to avoid paying your "fair share" of property tax?
