This year, there have been many days at triple digits, more than I ever recall. And they just don't go up and come down quickly but remain sustained. Then, add the humidity to it and double the misery. Eek Electric bills are through the roof.

I don't know how you even deal with heat like that? Sure you can just stay in your AC car, house, mall, office, etc but I just have to be outside a lot and if I could even tolerate that kind of heat I'd be miserable. I feel for the workers there. But Winters must be pleasant.
So far it's been a great year here in northern WV and I've yet to turn on the AC. Just checking now the hottest days of the next 10 are predicted to be today and next Sunday when the high could reach 81, the other days mid 70's to 80.

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

My family is in Houston, I will visit in October! I was in Dallas for summer of 1980, I remember the 60+ days in a row over 100° and we had 4 days in a row at 113°.

I am in Oklahoma now, but this summer is miserable up here also. We have had several days with the 5:00am low of 83°. I try get all bike rides and yardwork finished before 11:00am.

I have a few SIGs.

Hello BBMW, Just a poor attempt at humor. My apologies. I am truly concerned for the future of our children, grandchildren, etc. I previously worked with a gentleman who was adamant that it was all cyclical and that global warming was just a hoax.

One of my sons is downrange in one of the hottest place on earth and no it’s not Galveston (I used to live in that miserable place).

Anyway the heat index later this week is going to be 134 degrees….That is some serious heat. A few members of his team have already gotten heat strokes… even at 0300 hours it’s well over 100.

How can anyone sleep in that kind of heat without A/C? But they are doing it.

My son texted me on Signal this am…they were coming back from a mission when a young woman collapsed in front of them on the side of the road. They set up a perimeter and he got out of his truck and began to administer cpr while his medic gave the woman an IV infusion. Unfortunately she didn’t recover. This was at 0800 local time.

If there was anything that would make me want to move out of Texas, it would be summers like this one.

Well let's see.....it is 2:05 P.M. and a toasty 110F at my house. This is just what happens in So. Az. in the summer. We have had some rains so the humidity is up over normal. I get things done in the mornings, and then hibernate the rest of the day.

One of the worst things is that it kills any Golf attempt.
Golf is supposed to be played in the summer.

I'm glad I'm enjoying a cool 91° right now, supposed to hit 96° in another 1 1/2 hours!

If we don't get some rain, it could rival 2011, although at the moment, I'd still say 2011 was worse. It was as, or almost as hot and the drought went on all summer. Since it is only July, maybe we'll get some rain. Fingers crossed.

I've been in Houston continuously since '78, and before that, off and on since 1963.

The 2011 record heat wave was in August. I remember the drought. This year, it's been incredibly hot since late spring, stays persistently high, and it's not even mid July, yet. That's why it's been so miserable.

Btw, A/C is fixed. It was the capacitor. Also added 3 lbs of refrigerant. Cool

Yep. Although we’re supposed to “only” top out at 91° tomorrow.

We hit 108 in Wickenburg yesterday afternoon, our highest so far this year. Relative humidity was 18%. But the dewpoint temperature is up around 50+ degrees, and that adds to the "uncomfort" feeling. Take a bottle of water out of the fridge, and it immediately starts sweating.

We got about 20 minutes of light rain (I45 near Woodlands Mall), but huge raindrops, last night. The thunder teased us on Sunday, and actually delivered, albeit briefly, last night.

I'm in the opposite boat. Sunday night got an 1/8" of rain, but last night I eagerly watched my radar and lightning app only to be disappointed as it missed us by about 1.5 miles.

Space City Weather has been calling these little storms passing through "winning the rain lottery"
