Yeah - several great extra efforts on that play starting with Hughes advancing the puck at center ice and then Zach with a subtle body check to knock the defender off the puck and give him time to make that perfect pass !

Definitely should have been. Only allowed 6 goals in 5 games. Zero on the power play.

McJesus also got a Stanley Cup MVP when his team (Oilers) lost to the Panthers. The Media is in love with him.

And let's be honest - outside of the US, I am not sure there were too many people rooting for the US to defeat Canada.

Radio morning show today mentioned that the vote for the MVP was done by the first period of the final game. I guess we can see now why that is a stupid choice!

Fuckin’ Jackie boy! Love that we have the Tkatchuk’s and the Hughes’ as such important players. What an Olympic game and love that Jackie lost some chiclets and then dunked that shit on them. Idk Canada has some great players but it seems like there’s an arrogance and we smashed that arrogance. And real happy for the continual homage to Johnny Hockey #13.

McJesus is absolutely the singular most amazing player hockey has seen in decades. Arguably ever, I always love watching that fucker dominate a game and always in opposition to my own team or interest. I’d argue he’s bordering the best player hockey has ever seen, but he’s not a team. Team USA won the fucking gold. Jackie fucking Hughes, with his stud brother Quinn fucking Hughes, and the entire USA team.

Let’s not forget the 3 of the top 4 best scoring in players in the NHL (minus the one Russian fellow who didn’t get to play) were on Canada’s top line. (I don’t have to expound on that, the mere mention of magnifies the importance).

I watched the team as they arrived at Joint Base Andrews wearing their Olympic Gold Medals. There was a small group of USAF Airmen along a fence by the tarmac, the team went over to greet them.

I saw some of the team members put their medals around the necks of the Airmen so they could do selfies with them. Honest-to-God, that brought tears to my eyes! Cool

The hockey leftists are losing their shit over Kash Patel being in the locker room celebrating with the golden boys after the game. Turns out Patel and Bill Guerin GM of the Olympic team and the Minnesota Wild are buds and Guerin invited Kash in for a little celebration. Life must suck being offended every day by something. The leftists can't get enjoyment from anything. And they deserve the miserable life they lead.

A thought on life imitating art. A quote from a Gen X era movie:

"Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory lasts forever!" - Shane Falco (Keanu Reeves character in The Replacements, 2000)

Note to my future self, if you every get your front teeth knocked out, the coolest way to do it, is in a hockey game in the gold medal round of the Olypmics. Jack Hughes is going to experience glory that lasts forever!

I am totally re-connecting to the pride of winning the gold in 1980. USA!

The more I see interviews and stories of this young team, the more impressed I am with them. They were out there having the time of their lives. Playing for the USA and enjoying every minute of a once in a life time experance. While some teams went and stayed in nice hotels, the USA team embraced the Olympic village. Hanging out as a team and with other USA athletes.
