"Burns claimed..." "Burns said..." "...used a Geiger counter to claim he found heavy radioactivity." "The sighting sparked a panic in the area, with more people reporting strange sightings in the sky. A preacher in Augusta County said the sightings were a sign of the apocalypse." There is nothing of substance in any of that. Unsubstantiated claims, mass hysteria, and a preacher connecting these claims to his religious beliefs, and getting it wrong. There is simply nothing there. Burn marks can be made by Earthlings, too. I would say I'm waiting for someone to produce actual evidence, but that would be incorrect. I'm not waiting for things I know are not going to happen. There is no evidence to produce. There are no space aliens. We are, for all practical purposes, alone on this pale blue dot. To be sure, life exists all across the universe. The mathematical probabilities speak to this, but no one is visiting us. No one ever has, and no one ever will. I know what you mean. I worked with a person and his name was Cliff by the way. His thoughts were a lot of people panic and were seeing things that didn't exist or were something else. The newspapers can add drama and now parents are afraid their child will be kidnapped. Did you ever report any stories on UFO's? 41

Yes, when I was an adolescent caught up in the late 1960s / early 1970s hysteria that the United States was going though, and not one damn bit of it was true in any way. And then, I grew up.

If they drive a half-a-million lightyears to get here and then crash on arrival, we don't need them. We're full up with our own idiot drivers. === I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

I don't know about extra terrestrials, however around 25+ years ago, my wife and observed (close up) an Air Force stealth jet perform the impossible. I wish I had had a camera phone. God Bless and Protect the Once and Future President, Donald John Trump.

I'm wondering if the ban will drastically cut down on sightings. Do extraterrestrials have immunity, I wonder?

parabellum Peace through superior firepower posted December 20, 2024 09:09 PM Hide Post To be sure, life exists all across the universe. The mathematical probabilities speak to this, but no one is visiting us. No one ever has, and no one ever will. It's important to try to grasp the vast distances involved in the universe, and to try to understand the time scale.[/quote] I just don't know weather UFOs exist. But the reason I can't rule out the possibility is that they could have technology that is beyond our grasp to comprehend. For example, imagine this: In 1850 if you collected together a group of brilliant scientists, and told them you were going to present a demonstration of future technology. And someone came out, holding a small glassy object about the size of a pocket mirror. It's not connected to anything at all. There are no wires. But the demonstrator talks into this object and his words are heard by someone in China who talks back to him. It is impossible! Absolutely can't be! And then you brought out a microwave oven. You put something cold into it, and when you brought it out, it was hot. But the inside of the oven remained room temperature! We could multiply many such examples where the technology accomplishes the impossible. And is utterly impossible to wrap one's brain around by everything known in science. What I have said obviously is in no way proof of UFOs. I think it might, however, call into question one of the main arguments against the possibility of UFOs. If they do exist, they might have ways to traverse mind-boggling distances in a short amount of time. As impossible for us to comprehend, or imagine, as a cell phone in 1850. ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

^^^^^^^^ Thank you! I don't know the origin of UFOs, but I do know they exist. Myself, my family, and my neighbors all saw one in the early 1970's, and it wasn't any type of aircraft seen before or since! I know what I saw... I just don't know where it came from. If it had been a product of the gubbermint, I have no doubt it would have come to light in the intervening 50 years. Einstein showed us that warping space/time is at least possible... far outside our current abilities, but at least possible. Who's to say another race of beings somewhere in the universe hasn't figured out how to do it? Too many "impossible" things are now possible to rule it out. Edit to add: A great article about science and the Bible. I've always believed that both belong together, and quantum physics is a part of that. https://www.westernjournal.com...tent=western-journal _____________________________ Bill R. North Alabama

Do you know that less than 5 percent of the population knows about Quantum computers. The Quantum World Congress 2024 was held in the Capital One Hall in Tysons Corner, Va this past September. I use to work at that location and they tore down all the buildings and redid the whole area. https://www.youtube.com/playli...gwY2_xMpfUanIWSclTxV For further research, get the book "Quantum Supremacy : How the Quantum Computer Revolution Will Change Everything by Michio Kaku. 41

Michio Kaku is a bit out there, he makes his living sensationalizing some aspects of questionable science. Last time I checked quantum computing architecture as it stands does not lend itself to general computing type work, and running it reliably is difficult at practical scales. I'm not sure but my guess is its future as a general compute architecture is limited, though I don't know about other more specialized applications. And what the hell does he mean by "changing everything". I think there's quite a bit of stuff in life that doesn't need changing, and if it did, I I'm not sure how a theoretical compute architecture could have anything to do with it, unless he thinks it will take him or his descendants to another planet. I'd say he's just bailing his usual load of futuristic science. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster
