Drones (and some say UFOs) over NJ and now Philadelphia Login/Join

My daughter is a nurse. She has a friend (that she graduated from nursing school with) who now works at the medical facility at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehust military base. Going into work after dark she saw three triangular shaped drones and managed to get a cell phone video which she shared with my daughter. That night she was treating an airman with the flu. She asked him about it. He said yes he has seen them several times. He says he was also told by his commanding officer not to discuss it. The drones she saw were not the size of one of those tiny hobby drones. In her opinion they were probably the size of your typical automobile. My daughter's friend does not believe they were UFOs, although she did say she wouldn't rule it out. They made no sound.

The local news media is full of stories about these drones all over South Jersey and now Philadelphia. There are plenty of videos that have been aired. As for me, I do think we need to get to the bottom of this. Drones should not be flying around military bases or critical infrastructure unchallenged. Below is a link to one story, but if you google drones and military bases, you can find dozens of stories with pictures and videos.

Today's update. It continues. I hope Trump addresses this. It seems to me it's being ignored.

The drones are ours. How else would the government know they do not pose a threat? I’m just guessing, but there are numerous articles reporting the government claiming that.

I agree. If the military really didn’t know what they are, they’d shoot one down and find out. (870 with buckshot, no $1,000,000 missile please).

I, for one, welcome the advent of our benevolent alien masters.

She could not hear any sound made by them. If someone has made an actual silent drone, well good on 'em.

Using GPT and some photos I found. Plus location and some creative prompting. Came up with:

McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Joint Base
Located in Browns Mills, New Jersey, this is a major U.S. military base that combines McGuire Air Force Base, Fort Dix, and Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst. The base is known for its testing and development of military aircraft and drones.

McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst has a long history of hosting military drone testing and operations. Drones such as the MQ-9 Reaper and RQ-4 Global Hawk could operate in this area, as it’s close to restricted airspace and has facilities for drone operations.

Well .gov did let a Chinese balloon fly all the way across the country and said it posed no threat, but didn't really know what it was.

I say odds are 60-40 USA vs others

They aren't silent. Co worker saw one and heard one. He said it was size of 1/2 car and it made the high pitch noise of electric motors.

A nephew of our son-in-law works for General Atomics in the San Diego area. They have some drones this size with great potential, and are still under test. They are tested out in the Mojave Desert.
My guess on the NJ drones is as above: they're ours, and DoD is being tight-lipped about it.

I think they are ours. Gauging public reaction to their stealthiness is part of the testing protocols.

But I say someone should shoot one down. Try to keep it, and see who complains the loudest. That'll ID the owner.

I'm in CA and these things are in NJ. So are you saying I should go with a full choke?

There’s another way to find out that doesn’t involve shooting down a mystery drone flying over a military base.

Fly your own drone over the military base at the same time and see which one gets shot down.

To believe that these drones are someone else’s, you have to believe that our military lacks the ability, capability, authority, or resolve to take one down, which is absurd, or that our military is just somehow OK with people flying drones around military bases, which is equally absurd.
