I'm sad for your loss and happy for your memories. I dread the day when I will have to write this same obituary.

This hits home today. My parents' Bassett Hound, Lucy, has been on her last legs for a long time now. She was supposed to pass around Xmas time, which is why my folks canceled their trip from NJ to AZ and we went to them instead. But Lucy had a turnaround and seemed to be fine. Vet said the meds would keep her fine for another 2-3 months, but that she was terminal (lymphoma). My folks came to AZ last week and got the call yesterday as we were driving back from Tucson. My mom was beside herself. The neighbor who's having Lucy stay with her said she looks terrible, won't eat, can't move and is barely hanging on. I used some miles to get a last minute flight back to NJ for my folks this morning. My mom just wants to see Lucy one more time. Last night was rough. Their plane is still in the air and then they have a two hour drive home from Philly.

Tara,
Very sorry for your loss. It seems like yesterday that you were posting “meet Willow”.
It always sucks to lose a pet.

So sorry to hear of Willow’s passing. I’m sure she was well aware of the better life that you gave her when you rescued her. It always breaks my heart when a pet leaves us. They are always missed.

So very true. Lost my yellow lab last year and you never really get over it. I don’t have such eloquent words at hand condolences
