I don't get into debates about who is(are) the greatest guitarist(s) ever; it's art, not a footrace. There's too many different styles, and the best add textures that are not simply technical. As fans, we like what we like, but I think if there was an anonymous poll among musicians, Glen Campbell would probably be considered among the best.
There are some really good guitarists and musicians on this forum. Maybe they can chime in on how difficult it would be to do the William Tell Overture with a full orchestra. In any case, I am a big Glen Campbell fan:

Absolutely, Campbell is near the top of my best 10 list. And a clip from his best friend (and golfing buddy).

I remember listening to “Wichita Lineman” in the “old days” of my youth; then remembering THAT song made me remember the song “Watching Scotty Grow” by Bobby Goldsboro which I always thought was really good as well. Yes, better times in many respects…
