I've been discharged from the hospital for 24 hrs, and all indications are no long-term damage. Frankly, I couldn't be happier.

My 14 year old requested a ride to the grocery store tonight, to get ingredients for something. I didn't ask many questions. She got blackberries, flour, sugar...

You guessed it. Made me a blackberry cobbler for dessert. Sweet girl. Smile

I look in my rear view mirror, and see people smiling and pointing at my Boxers.

Yeah, BTDT. Several years ago. Same solution that we did ourselves.

I recently had to have my failed capacitor changed. I will be ordering a spare soon for next time - ridiculous what they charged me! I found it on Amazon for $10.

But I digress. On a HAPPY note - they also told me I had a leak and needed dye added so they can come back and find it. Today they came back and looked and didn't find any leak! Woohoo.

Home bound from a week in New Bern NC. Have spent a week there with a bunch of new and old friends on a “mission” trip. For the past 12 years I have taken about a week or two each year going to storm disaster areas to help the low income families get back into their homes. Often they don’t have the income, insurance or means to ever get back on their feet.

It’s been hotter than blazes for most of the week. Attic work for part of the week had temps of 120+. Fixed a bellied ceiling, helped hang Sheetrock and did some electrical troubleshooting in several houses.

It’s a week away from home, but it is a 100% focus on doing something for people you don’t know and probably will never see again.

As Crew chief it has been rewarding to see a small group of strangers get together, learn something, get into a rhythm and then be incredibly productive. Truly a blessed week.

I got to speak with my son last night! He is in his third week of Air Force basic training, and this was the first phone call he could make.

We are all healthy, thank God.

One son graduated college and the other will be in his senior year at Virginia Tech. They both have great jobs and are on great paths.

Trump in President

We had the neighbors kids for a sleepover last night. Two girls, 4 and 7. Watched spongebob, Disney channel, played board games, hide & seek, flashlight tag all night. My wife and I are exhausted lol. Made eggs and pancakes for them this morning, the little 4yr old ate 6 pancakes!

My bird hunting buddy called a few days ago to say he rented a cabin at Raystown Lake in PA, all expenses on him, he just got a new bass boat. Charlie and his sons and one of my sons and I are going to go out for the week. Should be an absolute blast. I like to cook so I told him all the food is on me, ribeyes, filet mignon, and I'm going to smoke some pulled pork ahead of time to bring out.

Trump is President.

I'm finally recovering from a herniated disc in February, L5 and S1, numbness in my left leg is almost gone and I finally started walking in the mornings again. Only up to 3 miles right now but I'm absolutely thrilled to be feeling good again.

Oh yeah, did I mention that Donald J Trump is President of the United States of America!

She still needs a new $5,500 HVAC system. How else is he going to fund his pool?

I'm going to get to meet my new nieces and nephew on the 19th of August. My sister adopted 3 siblings from Hungary. 12, 7, and 5. I'm in Rio Grande Valley for work so I'm going to go and get a bunch of Mexican candy and take to them.

Wife is out of town so I’ve spent the last two days riding around to breweries and thrift/used bookstores. Tried some great beer and found a few out of print books I wanted. About to go get some incredible pulled pork and smoked Mac n Cheese. Big Grin

Friday a co-worker said she was bringing her daughter to work with her. She often hangs out in my office a lot because I make paper airplanes and stuff for her, let her drive around on Google Street View on my computer etc., but this time I decided to bring someone else to keep her company...
