Great idea for a thread cslinger!!

I had a hearing aid receiver (speaker part) go bad. Hearing aid place wanted $150 to replace it, out of warranty.
Costco was in the neighborhood so I stopped in there. "The guy" tells me I don't have a brand they deal with but "just buy one on the internet".
It came yesterday and was half the price even after shipping. Easy to change out once I ground down a paper clip small enough to push the pin. Smile

Our 11 year old son is away at a jazz band camp...he’s the youngest kid there and the only bass player using an electric...rest are all uprights.

One of the teachers pulled my mother-in-law (a professional musician) aside and told her, “that boy is awesome...he gets it...he’s really, really good.”

Talked to him last night and he said this was one of the best things he’s ever experienced. Smile

Have a Crappie Day Folks!

My 9 year old son has been really interested in fishing this year so I've taken him out a few times. He's using a $15 Zebco 202 combo that comes with a box of small crappie jigs. Our first trip, he caught a 26" Northern Pike in the first 10 minutes. He caught a few 10" small mouth bass as well. Our second trip, he caught the large mouth in the picture, the 20" pike in the picture, a good size rock bass, and a 15" large mouth that I didn't get a picture of. He finally caught a crappie on our third trip as well as numerous small yellow perch and blue gills. All on the jig in the mouth of northern in the picture. I've spent more on a single lure than I did on his whole kit and he's way out fishing me. Like 10-1. Confused

This is a welcome thread Smile

There are now dozens, maybe over 100, Quaker Parrots (aka Monk Parakeets) at a city park near me, in the Dallas area. Pretty cool, IMO. This is from Sunday morning:

Took my tractor to a mechanic to have the AC fixed. Every. Single. Spring. since I've bought it, it's needed to be recharged because an oring failed and leaked all the refrigerant out.

Expected the same thing or worse this year.

Mechanic called this afternoon and said "Come get your tractor."

"Cool," sez I, "What'd ya find?"

"Nothing. Working perfectly. Freeze out an Eskimo."

"???"

So I went and picked it up. Turns out that in addition to turning the temp control to cold and turning the fan on, there's this little button marked "AC" that ya push and a green light comes on and cold air comes out of the vents. Not quite sure how I forgot about that, but I sure felt like a dumb shit.

I even asked him what the "stupid tax" on that one was and he said "No Charge."

My AC is back, I won't roast while mowing, AND my toy fund didn't take a hit. Win-Win!

I have a friend who asked me to join him for coffee the other day. He's lost about 120 pounds in the last year and a half and I'm really proud of him. About 5 minutes before we left, three police officers came in for their morning coffee and were seated next to us. I simply nodded and grinned to them but didn't say anything or bother them.

On my way out, I purchased three $10 gift cards from the coffee shop and placed them on their table on the way out and said "Have a great day" and I left.

Being a cop in the Portland metro area has to suck, so I figured some coffee shop kindness might brighten their day.

Tony.

Torn labrum in both shoulders. One more serious than the other. The lighter one is a simple SLAP tear. Serious one is Bankart repair and cyst removal. Was in extreme physical shape prior to surgery. Serious one was operated on June 7th. People said it would be a year to get back to 100%, and I would need a year if the other shoulder is operated on.

Fast forward to July 8th, first PT visit. Dr. and PT folks all said "way ahead of schedule, Wow, can't believe" etc, etc. Have almost full range of motion back already. Strength is certainly not there, as expected, but that one year quote of doing the other shoulder, nah, more like 3 months if I need. Need to wait 3 months to see if the stem cell injection takes.

People put limitations on you, sometimes they are false.
