My current commander is fond of saying "For your 'essay'..."

I was like "WTF, is he speaking Cholo now?" the first couple of times I heard it. Then I realized he meant "Situational Awareness".

OK, I can see adopting that one. I'm not sure what for, but that's just too good to let go.

Incidentally, "otaku" is starting to get used enough among those who use it to be meaningless.

Can I also say that I despise people talking about medicine as "meds." Don't know why that one bothers me so much but it does. Sounds like you've been watching too much ER and you need to quit, stat.

I often looked for a quality employee. One thing I looked for was ability to problem solve by thinking "outside the box". One time in post interview discussion with my co-interviewer, we decided the applicant could not think outside their box. I followed with "his box is not very big". Application denied.

I'm lucky I'm not around people who talk like that or use buzzwords, etc.
Most I'm around just cuss a lot which is fine with me.
Most I come in contact with for employment slaughter the English language.

I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

When Tacti-speak infiltrated the shooting world a couple decades ago, it made me sad, the transitioning, the engaging and all the running made me tired.

I think those who speak jargon and code to and around those not on the inside, are of the same mentality as those who speak in foreign languages to exclude those around them. Many times such behavior is rooted in personal insecurity. I have a cousin who is very gifted intellectually. He continually speaks in vocabulary designed to speak above everyone else’s head. In his case it is because he’s a one trick pony and uses that trick to compensate for social deficiencies.

I dislike the use of the domain ".gov" when someone is writing about the government. If you want to abbreviate "government" to "gov," okay, but what is with the dot?

lots of good ones mentioned.

another corporate-speak I heard all the time was 'deliverable' Like - after the meeting make sure we email everyone the list of deliverables we need for our next meeting. cringe

i personally hate the term 'kit' as used for gear / equipment.

its always been an Australian / Brit term. when we started the 'war on terror' and operating jointly -- it made its way heavily into the American lingo. i just hate it badly I'm not sure why...

which is odd because I don't care one bit if someone says 'clip' instead of 'magazine'

To begin....the word "issue" is now this ridiculously PC word for problem. People now have issues, not problems....WTH

Then there is the pronoun horse hockey in your email signature. Glad the SCOTUS addressed this one.
