Please be strong for her.

In the same boat with my wife, caught early but it is aggressive and chemo is not doing as hoped. Surgery planned for the 20th.

My prayers are sent with all my heart because I know how scary it can be, but we will win-- keep that in mind--WE WILL WIN!!!

Wife beat it last year. No holds barred, hit it with everything. Hair grows back. Hats can be bought. Boobs can be rebuilt (easy for us to say, even if true). Hold her hand, hold the kids hand, and radiate confidence like a flood light even when you are frightened inside.

We were lucky in many ways, one being that we seemed to be surrounded by other survivors. They were proof positive that it can be beat. If she doesn’t know any, find some. Hospitals usually have support groups of other patients and survivors. Like when one cop or soldier or whatever can nod knowingly at another’s story, no one can know her like another patient.

And when she complains that the shower water runs in her face now because her eyebrows are gone... laugh. Laugh together. It’s a better feeling, and it makes the little things even smaller, and everyone will need it.

Prayers sent. I have several friends and family who have beat it. Stay strong.

My cousin just read this thread. She's touched by all of your prayers and concern for her. Thank you all, again.

It's six years late, but I haven't been here much, and had forgotton about this thread. Again, thanks to all of you who prayed for my cousin.

She got rid of the cancer, and she and her son have been living a very active and happy life since then. Thanks God.

What a terrible disease.

My prayers and thoughts for a quick and complete recovery.

She will most likely have to endure Androgen Deprivation Therapy, Dr’s do not prepare patients for
How difficult this part of the treatment can be.

You must stay close to her and be very supportive, the emotional impact and mood swings can be very difficult.

Cancer is a very lonely journey at times, do prepare for addition emotional support regarding this aspect of treatment.

Lastly, seek the care of a Cancer Center of Excellence.
It will give her an edge on the latest treatment and standard of care.
