No thanks. I’ll settle for requisitioning Venezuela’s oil reserves until a non retarded and friendly government is in place.

No thanks. The borders of an empire are marked by the graves of her soldiers.

It's not right, and it's not worth it.

Phenomenally bad idea.
People and cultures really are different. I am happy they have theirs; I don't want them part of ours.

Mess with Canada and you will find out how non-polite Canada can be. OBTW, just a really bad idea.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

In the beginning, no one.
Hell, between the US, China, and Russia we could carve up the planet 3 ways.
But... empire building is easier than maintaining. Just ask Rome and London.
In the end, it just leads to rot and decay.
We have enough of that as it is.

I have 23 leaves, a rake with a broken handle taped together with duct tape, missing 14 tines, and a light breeze. I think it will keep me tied up through the crisis in the Americas.

But if I get done early, I might could help with the Canal.

Won't work. We would have to abandon all social programs first. We would have to eliminate the culture of corruption south of our border first. Every person in the Southern populations would have to agree to our constitution, bill of rights and subject themselves to a true capitalist economy.

I just don't see that happening.

That was the first thing I thought of also. What about infrastructure?

What infrastructure?

My exact point.

Can I have Baja California? When I run it think off road racing, 1940's night clubs ala the movie Casablanca, hunting, deep sea fishing and 1000 yard ranges.

Seriously though, if the Mexican government could be cleaned up and if they had turned Baja into a recreational paradise think of the possibilities. Wishful thinking I know.
