I think it's hilarious. The boat is sinking and they can't figure out why so they drill bigger holes thinking it'll help. Big Grin

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair issued an apology Friday after a story by ESPN’s Outside the Lines quoted him as making an offensive statement during NFL owners meetings last week.

In a discussion about player protests during the national anthem, and the effects the protests were having on NFL business, McNair said, “We can’t have the inmates running the prison,” according to a story by ESPN’s Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta. ESPN reported that NFL vice president of football operations, Troy Vincent, a longtime NFL player, was offended, and McNair later apologized personally.

He extended that apology Friday after the story’s publication.

“I regret that I used that expression. I never meant to offend anyone and I was not referring to our players,” McNair wrote in a statement released by the Texans. “I used a figure of speech that was never intended to be taken literally. I would never characterize our players or our league that way and I apologize to anyone who was offended by it.”

McNair has been a donor to President Donald Trump, and is viewed in the league as an ally to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, the lone NFL owner to publicly state he would bench players for protesting during the national anthem.

People are freaking out again and his players wanted to walk out.

Maybe they wouldn't be offended of so many of them didn't end up in court or jail. Truth hurts?

I think that's a fair comparison.

The No Firearms League has become a bunch of vastly overpaid, unpatriotic goons. So they run around a field chasing an oddly shaped little ball while trying to bash in each others heads. Watching or listening to their crap is a total waste of my time, and I'll have none of it.

The little forest animals know that when the wolves are in the woods it's a good time to stop chirping and flashing their bright colors and high spirits, because, you know,...wolves.

Apparently the inmates missed this lesson in natural history and don't recognize a gut-pile when they see one.

I had idly thought that, with retirement and time, and the building of the man cave, perhaps I'd give it a try.

Nope. Not now. Not ever.

The Ravens have been doing this "purple friday" promo thing for the last five years or so (basically, everyone wears purple on Fridays to support the team.) In years past, I would pick up my kids from school and all of the parents waiting would have some type of purple on. Hundreds of parents and you could only see purple.

Last Friday I counted...two people wearing purple.

Yesterday? None. And I looked for a solid 10 minutes while waiting for school to let out. Not a single person!

Yeah, Seahawks fans have a "Blue Friday" as well. I'm still seeing fan jerseys and hats and such, but nothing like the last five years.

I don't, and haven't watched any NFL games, so I can't keep up on the crowds that are/are not attending their games. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether or not we are winning this "take a knee bullshit"??

The NFL's ratings continue to decline.... From 2015, ratings are down nearly 20% by average.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Adam Schefter reported the Texans players are planning some big protest today. I love it! I hope they all do it and ratings just continue to tank.

The sad part is he felt compelled (pressured) to apologize. When the F*ck will someone stand up and say, if you do not like it, get the F out?

Yeah, I suspect it is financially motivated.

Oh well, another week w/o NFL and I am good to go.

No coincidence.

Trump's administration has been the first administration to even consider relaxing suppressor regulations. Someone is telling the 49ers to make this an issue. Fuck'em all!

Oh, I understand that, but how does this have anything to do with what the players are supposedly protesting about?
