I can't think of many more people that I would enjoy seeing get his comeuppance than Franken. The guy is an odious little shitbag. Now, if only Alec Baldwin and Keith Olbermann had some photos out there...

Wow. If all it takes to start yelling for someone to step down is an accusation (Moore) then any congress critter who had a settlement paid on their behalf better do the same. While a settlement may not show "legal" guilt, they sure as hell did something to pay out the money.

I want names.

I showed that table of info to Mrs. Elk, and she asked if the taxpayers would have had to pay legal expenses if the victims had gone public.

I don't know.

Suppose Ms. Smith decided she did not like congress critter "X" fondling her and filed a complaint, which led to charges. Who pays "X"'s legal fees for the trial/proceedings?

Unless there is a statute controlling this type of action, the general rule in tort is each party bears his or her own fees and costs.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I am still waiting for Biden to take to the microphone and hammer on Al.

He's America's uncle so the media used to say.
Maybe Uncle Ernie.
Down with the bed clothes, up with the night shirt.

Yuck!

Former Franken female staffers respond to allegations, say he ‘treated us with the utmost respect’

By DAVE ORRICK | dorrick@pioneerpress.com | Pioneer Press
PUBLISHED: November 17, 2017 at 9:49 am | UPDATED: November 17, 2017 at 9:55 am

Amid a firestorm of criticism for sexually offensive behavior by Minnesota U.S. Sen. Al Franken, eight women who formerly worked Franken Friday morning issued the following statement:

“Many of us spent years working for Senator Franken in Minnesota and Washington. In our time working for the Senator, he treated us with the utmost respect. He valued our work and our opinions and was a champion for women both in the legislation he supported and in promoting women to leadership roles in our offices.”

The statement was signed by the following women: Katherine Blauvelt, Alexandra Fetissoff, Jessi Held, Lisbeth Kaufman, Natalie Volin Lehr, Karen Saxe, Charlotte Slaiman and Bethany Snyder.

On Thursday, a news anchor in California alleged Franken had “forcibly kissed” her without her consent, and had groped her while she was sleeping — an allegation backed up by a photograph — while she and Franken were on a USO tour to entertain American soldiers in 2006.

Friday’s statement was sent to reporters by Fetisoff, Franken’s former press secretary who now works in consulting, in response to the stream of reporters contacting former female staffers with questions about Franken.

“Reporters, I, along with many of my former female colleagues from Senator Franken’s office, have gotten requests from the press as to the climate of our Senate and campaign workplaces, and Sen. Franken’s conduct with female staffers,” she wrote. “In response, we have made the following statement. Signers are listed below the quote.”

Franken was elected in 2008.

She is so totally disconnected from truth, that she is not even really lying anymore. Lying means you know what the truth is. She does not. She can say anything, and a lie detector needle wouldn't waver.

This is not a power, or a strength on her part. She is a lost soul with no sense of direction and no compass.

To me, what is really ugly about this photo is that it is a bully in action. He can't feel her tits under the kevlar. His action has nothing to do with stolen sexual pleasure, or humor, or anything at all except humiliation. And degradation. Taking a picture that he will use to emotionally "push her around," attack her, hurt her. Bully her.

If his victim were someone I loved, I could not rest until I had knocked his teeth out. I know this would be a mistake, resulting in charges against me and maybe even jail time. But I could not help myself, this kind of thing so infuriates me.

Ugly little cowardly prick! Mad Mad

First two stories on the top left hand side of the front page of the New York Times this morning:

Story # 1: "Franken Joins The Ranks Of Men Who Have Harassed"

Story # 2: The Alabama GOP endorsed Moore today for the US Senate, without reservations

IOW, the NYT is doing its bounden duty (or at least the headline writers are) and automatically believing the allegations while Alabama Republicans are actually insisting on proof. It looks like everyone's on track.
