Brutal hit. Luckily it wasn't worse than a concussion. Video in the Link: https://www.msn.com/en-us/spor...ttman-jr/ar-AA1lHcP6

My foozball following coworkers think that breaking the rules just to cause injury is "just part of the game". As long as it's their favorite team players are doing it. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick.

Time to take the facemasks away. Joe Paterno and Mike Ditka agreed.

probably a good thing I don't have a cut |
I doubt there was intent to cause injury. These guys are trained to play a certain way all their lives and now, because the NFL is changing the rules for player safety, they are supposed to turn off a lifetime of trained responses in the heat of the moment to consider these new rules as they are playing. It'll just keep happening or the defenders will start hesitating causing more scoring. Either way, I still won't care.

About 10 years ago, coworker of mine suggested cutting down on the protective equipment. At the time he sounded insane but the logic of his idea kind of made sense: take away the protective equipment would force the players to slow down and be more cautious. The old farts who keep saying it's a part of the game are just full of shit. All sports have evolved from hockey cutting down on the blindside hits to baseball changing the rules of running the catcher over to basketball being less physical (the 2004 Malice at the Palace was an awful black eye to the NBA). The first priority of a sports league is to make money and having players injured doesn't help make money. _____________

With just one angle and no slo-mo, looks like he led with his helmet. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

Kazee isn't being suspended due to this hit. He's being suspended due to numerous hits just like this one. The guy is out there trying to end careers. Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed. Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists. Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

Was it Kenny Stabler who famously said "QBs should wear skirts?"

Oh a pattern? of these type of hits? Well then.... If they really wanted to make a dent they'd kick his ass outta the league and ban him for life. And it was Jack Lambert that said that about QBs and skirts and he actually said dresses.

Football has an existential problem. As players get bigger, faster and stronger, the hits get harder and the injuries more common. No way around it really.

Tom Brady says NFL punishment Harsh and the QB's and Coaches are to blame... Link Damontae Kazee's hit on Michael Pittman Jr. that laid out the Indianapolis Colts receiver wasn't solely the Pittsburgh Steelers safety's fault – at least in the eyes of Tom Brady. On Monday, the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback commented on SportsCenter's Instagram post showing the hit and sharing the news that Kazee, who was ejected from the game after the play, was suspended for the rest of the season. "Nobody likes seeing players get hurt. But hard hits happen," Brady said via his official account. "QBs should not be throwing the ball in areas where they are exposing their own teammates to these types of hits. Coaches need to coach better, QBs needs to read coverages and throw the ball to the right places and defenders should aim for the right hitting areas. To put the blame on the defense player all the time is just flat out wrong. Need better QB play!! It’s not OK QBs to get your WRs hit because of your bad decisions!" The NFL suspended Kazee for the rest of the regular season and barred him from any playoff games the Steelers play in. The hit came during the second quarter of Saturday's game at Lucas Oil Stadium when Pittman Jr. caught a pass from Gardner Minshew II. The fourth-year receiver was in concussion protocol after the play.

Agree. I wish there were other angles and slo-mos though. Especially since he's known to do this. And yes, if so, kick him out for good.

From the link in the OP post.
Seems like Damontae did that fuck around and find out thingy. I don't watch the NFL anymore (social justice bullshit) but I played from little league through freshman year in college. I coached little league and encouraged my son to play. I was even a parent assistant coach on my son's high school team. 20/20 hindsight I would never have done any of it. Head injuries suck and they are definitely part of the game. Getting your "bell rung" = "IQ loss".

^^^So based on that video, he did NOT lead with his helmet...All shoulder! Seriously though, how else is it 'supposed' to make this hit/tackle? Honestly, after viewing that, I agree with Tom Brady on this one...The QB set him up to take that hit! ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! Ridiculous. Ronnie Lott would never complete a game in this league. Just make it flag football and be done with it.

Appreciate you finding that view, para. I realize it's all heat of the moment, but it still seems to me it was a poor tackle decision. Hell, the guy would have been down with a touch of a hand.
