Yeah. This LOOKS bad for MGM, but they are getting out in front of the lawsuit circus and trying to head them off before they can get up steam.

EVERY person involved (and many who weren't even there) would almost certainly try to milk MGM for every penny they could, along with their slimy ambulance chasing lawyers. It could be real 'victims' and families of the shooting, as well as those were at the concert, staying SOMEWHERE in the hotel, or were walking within a mile and claim they were 'impacted' by the shooting. Think of thousands of people, ALL of whom want several million dollars to 'compensate for their pain.' And once that money starts flowing, there could be literally no end to those trying to cash in.

Fuck the lawyers.

Why are we blaming lawyers? That's just like blaming MGM.

Lawyers aren't the problem. MGM isn't the problem. Guys like Jason McMillan are the problem.

How about fuck Jason and guys like him?

quote:
Jason McMillan, a 36-year-old Riverside County sheriff’s deputy who was shot and paralyzed, said he can’t believe MGM officials would try to foist blame onto anyone but themselves.

“I just can’t believe the audacity,” McMillan said at a press conference in Southern California where survivors, victims’ relatives and attorneys railed against the decision to file lawsuits against hundreds of victims.

“I’m not just a victim from the concert. I’m a survivor, and they’re not going to get away with anything. We’ll keep this going as long as it takes,” McMillan said.

So, here we are, a year later. What have I said all throughout this thread? I've said that we'll never know this guy's motivation, and I was right. Sorry, but I was right.

Memorial events mark 1-year anniversary as massacre motive still shrouded in mystery

^^^ And when you said that I was sure you were wrong. That within a few months we'd learn that he'd been converted to a radical form of Islam. Or that he was an anti-Trump fanatic leftist.

Year later-- nothing, nada, zip.

You were right.

OAN (One America News Network) has been mentioned in other threads as a decent alternative to fake news media.

Here's an October 16, 2018 11-minute OAN interview with Brad Johnson, a retired Senior Operations Officer and Chief of Station with the Central Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations. Johnson is the founder of Americans for Intelligence Reform.

Johnson talks about several details that have either not been followed up on or not publicized.

Summary of points Johnson makes in the video:

- 30 minutes before shooting starts, a TSA employee in the back of the concert overhears 2 women talking - “f…ing white people gonna know how this feels – wait until later” and “woo-hoo - like shootin’ fish in a barrel – are you getting this?” and is videoing with her phone.

- Hotel computers have Room 32135 deadbolt being thrown (from inside) at 2136 and not ever being unlocked afterwards, and 10 minutes later the deadbolt to room 32134. When police breeched room 32135 where Paddock was found, the door connecting the 2 rooms was deadbolt locked from the room 32134 side. Either the police report is wrong and the connecting door was open, or, someone locked the connecting door from the 32134 side.

- One of the 2 laptop computers found had no hard drive. Why bring that to the room? Logic says the hard drive was removed from the computer while it was in the room.

- Johnson discusses Brian Hodge, an Australian who said he was staying in room 32134.

- Johnson says there’s evidence that Hodge and Marilou Danley both worked at the Star Gold Coast casino in Australia at the same time

- A used pair of gloves was found on the bed in 32134. Paddock had gloves on.

So there's no mention of the entry door to 134 being opened after it was locked from the inside. Which would mean that both doors to 134 were locked from the inside yet there was no one in the room. Which means either the report is wrong and one or both doors to 134 were not locked from the inside, someone exited the front door to 134 and it wasn't picked up or is being intentionally left out, or someone in 134 went out the window Mission Impossible style down the building.

Well, now that all the crime is solved, all the dead and injured people are reset, and we have instant precog to any and all future events and can stop them before they happen.

Or, scumbag decided to kill and injure as many people as he could because he chose to carry out this attack, and no predicting, no understanding, just another of life's "FUCK YOU!!!", because people are as unpredictable as any random, self determining organic manifestation as will occur.

Or go mad trying to understand or prove chaos theory.

Meanwhile, I will live life, not sweat the small stuff, and always carry a gun. Just in case...

Yeah, the mews media have to try to keep the story alive. You can expect for "clues" to pop up during slow news periods. How coincidental.

Let me know when you find real evidence, which will be never.

Yes, I specifically remembered the adamance with which you expressed your opinion on this issue which is why I posted the article immediately upon seeing it. You were 100% correct.

I have some LEO contacts who have to remain at distance to keep things anonymous.

1. Local LEO concluded months ago that motive was not known and there likely was no motive. Just waited for FBI to do their thing but he apparently did it for shits 'n giggles. Lots of questions and no answers.

2. The girlfriend had no idea and fully cooperated with whatever LEO asked.

3. He did not have money troubles. Far from it.

4. The money he gave to the GF was the same to what he gave to other GFs when he broke up with them. Generous with his money.

5. He knew to ask to accompany his luggge to the room.

6. In a surprise to most here, CNN actually had most of the story correct and didn't stray too much from the truth.

7. There are some changes regarding tourniquets by the local Five-0.

8. There were some things different in his life in the months prior to the shooting but nothing that would suggest a precursor to the shooting.

Do you think he had this in place in order to breathe in the event the room was filled with tear gas or ... ? What are the theories here?

As soon as it becomes clear that there are no others involved, the motive for any of these crazy people doesn't really matter.
There is nothing that would motivate a sane person to do anything like this.
Even the crazy school shooters where a "motive" is identified, doesn't provide a real answer.
The authorities have to go through the motions well after they already know the answer so they aren't accused of some sort of whitewash or undiscovered conspiracy.
