The Gold Cup is a joke. Both the USA and Mexico would be better off playing in the Copa America (instead of Japan & Qatar) against much higher level competition. That's how teams improve. Winner winner chicken dinner  Game report: USA 2-1 over Spain. Spain surprised me with their team speed. It took 2 penalty shots to win. No goals in the run of play by the USA. They shut down and beat us up pretty much the whole game. We could't get past them on the wings for crossing balls. I think Alex Morgan got fouled over 10 times. It was a rough and tumble game. We gave up the goal with a poor decision from our goalie when she passed the ball to our defender at the top of the 18 with three Spain players around her. She lost the ball and they scored on a nice shot. Next up is France in the Semi finals. the whole game in terms of officiating was .... inconsistent IMO ugly game to watch but its a win I think Ellis needs to re-think a few things the US back line / GK did not inspire confidence and we need to improve the finishing on to France -- that could be a game for the ages would love to see Lloyd get more minutes vs. France - she is a 'big game' player IMO ---------------------------------------------------- Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. | |||
