The Gold Cup is a joke. Both the USA and Mexico would be better off playing in the Copa America (instead of Japan & Qatar) against much higher level competition. That's how teams improve.
I have no interest in the USWNT being successful until Megan Rapinoe is carried off on a stretcher.

She's still on the field isn't she? Last I checked she wasn't benched so as far as I'm concerned, she's a reflection of the entire team.

PR64Winner winner chicken dinner
Game report: USA 2-1 over Spain.
Spain surprised me with their team speed. It took 2 penalty shots to win. No goals in the run of play by the USA.
They shut down and beat us up pretty much the whole game. We could't get past them on the wings for crossing balls. I think Alex Morgan got fouled over 10 times. It was a rough and tumble game.
We gave up the goal with a poor decision from our goalie when she passed the ball to our defender at the top of the 18 with three Spain players around her. She lost the ball and they scored on a nice shot.
Next up is France in the Semi finals.
