The ardbeg oogi is great stuff, I got a bottle of their anniversary stuff, perpetuum. Really awesome drink, pairs just perfect with this smoke. Well it does with the 2015 release, this year is supposed to be a remake of the 2015, since the 2016 La Tache turned out pretty bad. Anywho, this smoke, with smokey, peaty scotch is fantastic.

About 2/3rds in and wow. You guys gotta try this one before they are gone! Almonds, chocolate, cinnamon and sugary sweetness, some earthy barnyard and cedar, with a spicy retro that has the slightest touch of pepper. I am buying more. As many as I can.

I like everything of Crowned Heads. Purocigar has the 10 box for $89.10 with free shipping. I picked up a couple of boxes.

Happy Friday, my friend.

Got off work just a little bit early, had an early dinner, then went to the spirit choices.

This is my stash. I first chose the Macallan 25 with the La Palina dalia. Excellent coupled together as Gator said it would.

Currently enjoying this - Sandeman 40 port with Cohiba Siglo III. Really good together.

Jay the mule kick is what got me hooked on CH in 2012. I need to try the 2017.

Gerry
What did you think of the the Goldie, I'm a big fan.

I'm having a Tat rumbo these are from 2012 and age has done them well.

Tat broadleaf k222 tonight, I kind of like the original k222 better.
I got another box of mule kick, gonna try and pick up more. Crowned heads has a lot of winners. Looking through my humidor i have more CH than any other brand. I also picked up a six shooter sampler so i could try out a few more of their brands. How are the HG drumsticks? Still in stock everywhere, wonder if the lancero size turns people off of them.

Yes most people don't favor lanceros, personally I love them especially with the right blend. The drumsticks are medium with great flavor, cooking spices and dried fruit being the dominate flavors.

I smoke outside and lanceros are affected by humidity so I don't smoke them May through September.

My two favorite lanceros are the tat especialles and My Father #4 which halfwheel gave a 94.

The drumsticks are very good as are the mule kick but I am on a buying freeze. The wife and I are doing the Dave Ramsey debt snow ball and we have paid off 15,000 in debt since Jan. I bought a bunch of TAA And two boxes of cubans in early may so I'm done till the fall.

Thats good stuff, we are debt free except for my truck which has about 6 payments left. I use cards for the rewards, cash rewards or amazon rewards. Trying to convince the mrs to buy the house we are living in.

Lanceros are definitely an odd size to smoke, i have noticed that i have to do extensive dry boxing with them and with the petite tats to get a good burn and flavor. The drumsticks however may have to wait until the mule kicks are sold out.

Morning gents. I love this smoke. Fruity is the dominate taste, no spice. I've got another cab coming so I can put back to age. Very realistically priced for their high rating.

Eric, I liked the dalia but it feined off flavor about half way through. Maybe it was a bad stick.

There was some good spice and maybe honey/banana maybe. I will say it did pair very well with the single malt. Maybe look for one next week along with some others to try so you can give us a second opinion. Big Grin

Jay, I'm looking forward to the mule kicks. And, by chance, I know someone Cool who has a box of the drumsticks. Might want to be on the lookout next week for a surprise to show up in the Houston area.

Lanceros are a tough one sometimes. I love that size vitola, especially while playing some golf (trying to get back into playing), but they are sometimes a challenge to get the right balance.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Too small a ring like the warhead 3 i had last week and it smokes way to fast. Too thick and the draw is tight. Theres a store here in Houston that sells mostly lanceros, a bunch of manufacturers even made a line of lanceros for them, the store is Stogies and the smokes are called H-town lanceros. Steve saka will be paying them a visit in October, i may have to check them out.

Some morning shade.

I have had a bunch of the H town lances from Stogies. The Tat, la Palina, Espinosa Laranja, four kicks I enjoyed them all. The tat is an Ecuadorian Sumatra which I like but not everyone is a fan. On the lance the wrapper really dominates the flavor.

I might give their 10ct h-town sampler a try. I sent Saka a message on FB asking if hes bringing any of his personal special blended smokes, ive seen him talk about Ligas with Connecticut shade wrappers, sumatra wrappers and different testing blends that he has tucked away in his personal stash from blending at DE, he replied with "I usually bring some smokes that I feel bad about parting with, I only give them away to those who ask, but expect something special just for Stogies customers" It may be worth the Midtown hassle to meet the guy and pick up some unicorns.

I'm going to look for some of those Four Kicks while I'm here at Tampa Humidor. I didn't see any of the 2017s earlier, but I didn't look too closely.

I really didn't need them, but I ordered a box of the Mule Kick from Purocigar too.. I love everything I've had from CH and I'm sure these will be no different.

Gerry, I smoked the JD yesterday. What size was the one you gifted me? I see they have a lonsdale, but I wouldn't have said that was a 46rg cigar?! Closer to a 35rg? Either way, I was quite pleased at how well I could taste the wrapper. It changed the flavor profile more than I anticipated from the other couple of JDs I've had before. Thanks again!
