NIXON, Nev. (KOLO) - Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal police are providing details about an encounter with climate change protestors that occurred near Nixon, Nevada Sunday.

A video showing the incident has been viewed 2.3 million times since being posted to Twitter Sunday and shows a ranger using his truck to plow through a barricade set up by the protestors.

PLPT says that on Aug. 27 at around 1:00 p.m., they responded to State Route 447 on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Indian reservation for activists who were blocking the road, backing up traffic for several miles.

They say the activists were told to clear themselves from the highway. PLPT also says the conduct of the ranger is under review.

Five activists, two from New York, one from Washington, one from California, and another from the country of Malta, were cited and released. One activist refused medical treatment.

Andy Ngo is reporting that the Ranger who rammed the barricade has been placed on administrative leave.

It'll be used as an example of willful destruction of department property by the department. A cursory 'punishment' to satisfy the cries for justice.

Given how these protestors operate, I believe there was a 'legal observer' at the ready, documenting and filming everything so, any perceived aggressive action (as satisfying as it is) will be used to bring a suit claiming abuse and the actions put other people in uncesssary danger.

In many cases, it's better to have Joe Citizen drag these people away and have their way with them, thus the police don't have to get involved, liability becomes murky and Ms Protestor only has a case of road-rash and maybe a few new lumps.

I was thinking he’d get another stripe for feeing up traffic & doing what need to be done.

I hope his actions were under review simply because he damaged a department vehicle and needs additional training on how to ram a barricade off a street without damaging department property.

Hope somebody tested his brakes. Looked like a mechanical failure to me.

Stewart posted a picture of herself on social media enjoying a cocktail aboard a luxury cruise traveling to Greenland from Iceland.

"We actually captured a small iceberg for our cocktails tonight," Stewart wrote, in part, in her caption.

She also shared a photo of a huge piece of ice sitting on a black cart, presumably the ice she was referring to being used her drink.

Stewart’s post received backlash from her followers who felt her comments ignored the climate crisis.

"Martha the ice caps are melting don’t put them in your drink," wrote one commenter.

"I generally love Martha and the excesses of her life because she's about beautiful gardens, homes, and food, but wealthy white people drinking their iceberg cocktails while the planet is in flames is a bit tone deaf," shared another.

"Martha I love ya. But weren’t you just talking about climate change with your wash out on your driveway in NY? Melting icebergs for a cocktail surely won’t help. I’m not even going to talk about the boat you’re on and how that can’t be good for climate change either," said a third.

"You should have left the ice right where it was. You have heard of global warming haven’t you?" questioned another.

Representatives for Stewart did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on the post.
