Currently all flu shots are the old standard “dead virus type”, but the pharma dudes are working on perfecting mRNA versions for the future, so it is a good idea to check every year if you don’t want that version.

My friends, I’m leaning strongly now toward taking the shot. Glad I bounced it off you folks.

I got a bad case of the flu in 1984, was down about two weeks with it. I have gotten a flu shot every year since and have not gotten the flu again. I've known three men who died from the flu.

About 4 years ago my EMS employer made it a condition of employment. Up to that point, i had never had a flu shot. In the best years, they get the influenza vaccine 20% correct. OTOH, in the period of time i had been an adult, I legitimately have had influenza twice. So based on the odds and the effectiveness, I could not see a rational reason to piss off my immune system.

So i balanced the $12k a year I made working EMS vs getting a flu shot. I made a deal with myself, I would agree but if they ever added any other additional vaccines, i was going to quit.

So guess what Brandon did to those of us in healthcare? So I wrote a letter to our VP explaining that I had acquiesced on the flu shot but wasn't going to get a C19 vaccination. They went right up to the deadline and blinked. So i will get my flu shot again this year but I will wait right up to the deadline to get it. I go to my PCP, they know I am opted out of our state vaccine registry, no hassles, in and out. They will give me a chit that says I've complied and the time clock will let me punch in.

We got ours last week at our local pharmacy. Been getting regularly since they became a common offering.

Same here. This month I got the flu shot, plus the #5 Moderna Covid booster (the bivalent one).

Perfect response Brad! Good for you!

I would be extremely hesitant to accept any injection right now due to not trusting pharma or the powers behind the curtain. Our docs had better be worthy of our trust, but I don't trust whoever is mixing the stuff that goes in the vials, and I wouldn't even trust places like chain pharmacy stores (e.g. Walgreens etc) or flu shot clinics.

I'm with you Fly-Sig.

I like and trust my doctor, but I now know he's just an order taker. It's Big Pharma, and Big GOV that have destroyed my trust in the health care system.

I used to take an annual flu shot but not last year and I won't this year.

I have no problem with those of you who have chosen to take the Covid shot. Your choice. But they lost my trust when they started mandating it and threatening people in all sorts of ways including the ability to work and earn a livelihood. Government has no business doing that and should stay out of our individual right to decide.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I’ve gotten my flu shot just about every year since my kid was born (15 years ago). I figured being in EMS, I didn’t want to bring anything nasty home and get him sick. I have no reaction to them, takes about 5 mins at CVS or at work and it’s free.

Now that I’ve turned 50, I’m starting to wonder if I should add the Shingles and Pneumonia vaccines as well?

Our family Dr. is an Internist. I had my annual checkup last week and he said get the covid booster now and the flu shot two weeks later. He doesn't give the shots so there is no financial benefit for him. I trust his judgement. I have also had the shingles shot and the pneumonia shot. About anybody that has ever had shingles cannot wait to get the shot. There are some real horror stories from people who didn't get it.

I can’t say I haven’t had thoughts, like yours, but I’ve been getting the flu shot for over 20 years, and it seems to work, so I’ll probably get it this year too.

About five or six years ago I watched a neighbor contract shingles and acquire permanent nerve damage on her sciatica.

She would get up every day take 20 minutes to put on her shoes and force herself to go for a walk.

Her daily hobbling was humbling.

No bueno

I took the regular flu shot every year and would always ask for the Quadrivalent Flu Vaccine version which contains (4) different strains of the flu virus instead of (3) in the normal one. However the last regular flu vaccine I took was in 2020 BEFORE the release of the mrna covid vaccine. I got covid a few months after that and have NOT gotten any of the covid vaccines or boosters. God Bless Smile

I'll get one in late October. The immunity wanes over time, so I think the push for September vaccination is a little early for most flu seasons.

I don't trust anyone in the medical industry any longer - I'm convinced that the individuals health isn't their primary concern - its maximizing revenue by giving unnecessary tests, providing false or misleading info on shots to satisfy pharma and their corporate masters.

Overall, I'm not about to let anyone jab me with anything because I'm not sure that whatever is in the bottle hasn't been adulterated

This ^^^^^. In spades.

I used to get the annual influenza shot. Well, usually. Then, one flu season, when, for whatever reason I didn't, the thing turned out to be less than 23% effective. Yet still they were pushing it like it would be the end of your life as you knew it if you didn't.

I've shunned them ever since.

The whole C19 experimental "vaccine" debacle has only reinforced my decision. I've pretty much lost my faith in the western medicine health care industry, because I believe it's more about care for its bottom line than my health.

When the doctors don’t “ follow the science”… They’ve lost me.

Sorry, but I studied molecular, cellular and developmental biology.

Does immunity really wane ??? If I remember correctly BEFORE covid most of the time when one experiences the virus the antibodies our body produces is for a LIFETIME. In my opinion, before so called science changed and we are now told different.

1918 Spanish Flu Antibodies still providing immunity

I got the flu shot for many years, but skipped it last year because, like some of you, I don't trust our medical community. Isn't that sad! If I knew I was getting the true and traditional flu shot I'd do it, but I honestly can't feel comfortable in my own doctor's office. Paranoid? Foolish? Maybe, but I'm not alone.
