Well he did find and "rescue" a hiker near Idaho falls ,back In Aug. of 2000. Seems back then he had a Bell 407. And in 2001 he is credited with rescuing a lost 13 y.o. boy in Yellowstone Nat Park. For what ever that's worth.

Once again you guys are nuts. His previous “incident” was flying directly over a loaded airliner holding short of the landing runway. You and your family could have been on that plane when he impacted. And don't kid yourself, flying over a 75 ton jet that is red white and blue over polished aluminum is quite a feat. Not to mention thank God nobody was on that taxiway when he landed. Chuck Yeager is the man but they don’t let him take up the jet anymore.

Guppy can pretend like these two incidents within a couple years of each other, plus 77 years old, are no big deal. That is utter bullshit.

When he does the same thing and an airliner gets pancaked by his little plane and hundreds of lives are lost think back to this thread.

2 significant failures in 2 years. Forget the engine failure. Crossing an active runway and overflying a passenger jet, which means he never fucking saw it, and landing on an active taxiway.
Yea, no big deal. BS.

This guy is going to kill someone. Watch the Air Canada into SFO incident. Overflew another jet. Almost landed on a taxiway. At least that was at night. And I bet they got more than a letter in their jacket.

Han Solo doesn't need to be grounded. He just needs Chewbacca to translate the garbled Wookie controller in the tower.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Look up the statistics on runway incursions. There are over 1500 a year. Go listen to some ATC taxiing instruction recordings...some of these, particularly at busy airports, are fairly complex. By the numbers there were 4 known runway incursions on the day that Ford's happened and yet only one of them made the news. Obviously that isn't adjusting for the reduction in air traffic right now, but the 1500+ a year is based on the last few years.

Anyone know why the static long e z has it's nose on Grandma's geranium plant stand, but the plane taking off has what seems to be a nose wheel ? Hanging down.

Because it will tip over backwards without the pilot if left unattended. How do I know this? See the damaged main gear wheel pants with primer paint?

I have to pick up the nose, keep about 10# pressure on the canard, and then jump in. Same getting when getting out. It was easier when I was 30 years old Big Grin

Didn't buy it; I built it in my garage. Made 3 of them over 8 years. Ingress/egress is easier than it sounds. 210 knots top speed, 1,500nm range, has been to FL310. Mildly aerobatic, pilot plus 1 passenger.

If I ever get time at home (...), I want to build a Cozy.

Assuming the guppy gets finished, and the RV-6...

I hear you. I'm "DONE" with fiberglass, and have a RV-14 taildragger under construction that's taking too long.

‘Was’ a good stick. Anyone who hasn’t seen it should go to YouTube and watch the video of the guy overflying the American Airlines plane.

I've certainly watched it, and it's overblown, and doesn't show what everyone seems to think it shows. Neither does it show a collision hazard.

Have you landed at SNA?

No, but I do place a lot of value on Otto’s opinions on matters like this, having read his thoughts on things like this for years and years. I imagine he’s still waiting for you to back up your assertion from page 2.
