Hoping for a fast recovery and that you get some answers soon.

The diagnosis is high blood pressure causing swelling at the back of the brain. The doctors say once they control the hypertension the issue should resolve itself.

His blood pressure is much better now. He is extremely tired. He's responding to questions but just wants to sleep.

Me, too. I could really use a few moments of shut-eye.

Thanks for the prayers, thoughts and encouragement!

It's been a long day for you both...if he is resting...you take advantage and get some sleep too if you can...

Still keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am praying for your son. I have just started talking to my doc about my blood pressure these last couple of weeks. I can only imagine the compounded fear and anxiety you and yours must be facing.

Damn, Mark. Sorry to hear about this. Please, do me a favor. If he has not done so, already, start measuring the BP daily and keep a diary of it. At this early stage of his diagnosis, where the BP can fluctuate widely, measure it preferably twice a day. This is especially more important with renal cause of hypertension, because it is often difficult to control.

Thank God, he didn't have brain hemorrhage from this event.

They've had him on nicardipine and his bp has come down to 167/73. They want to bring it down slowly to avoid any further complications.

So far, so good.

They took out his arterial line so that they can move him out of ICU and into a regular room. He's still sleeping but is having an easier time communicating.
