Biopsy was today. We're still here. You were right they are keeping us here all day.

Hopefully the results are back by Thursday for his PCP appointment.

We got partial biopsy results. The doctor said it's not chronic but acute. MPGN.

That's not from the SEM as those results won't be in for about two weeks. Then we'll know if it's type I, II or III. He said to keep up with the prednisone treatment.

Follow your nephrologist's recommended therapy. He knows more than anyone of us. Best wishes for a good response to treatment.

I was somewhat skeptical of the MCD diagnosis based on descriptions above. Hopefully ARF is a good thing here with a prognosis of 100% recovery- although it may take a few months.

Be careful with dehydration, Advil and high blood pressure all at the same time. ARF could result. Not saying this was the case here but sounded like all three were present to some degree.

Well wishes!

There is no Advil in the equation. Marky doesn't use it.

The electron microscope showed MPGN type 3.

According to tests it was not caused by auto immune disease.

His creatine levels have improved.

The doctor wants blood tests every 2 weeks.

Hepatitis tests were negative for all three types so the doctor says he falls into the category of "we don't know what caused it" (idiopathic) like 85% of people that have it. The doctor believes it's probably an immune response to an infection that I just must have missed. Marky does hide pain and illness from me as he feels he has done something wrong.

We are to watch for any swelling in hands or legs.

The doctor was pleased with the response to the medication.

Marky had a bad headache so I gave him Tylenol and took his blood pressure. 168/121. He then complained of dizziness so we're at the emergency room. On the way here he complained of blurry vision and he has hand tremors.

More info to follow.

He had some sort of seizure during a CT scan. Had a total loss of vision. They may transfer him to children's hospital.

My wife has migraine headaches, first she sees sparklies then she starts to get tunnel vision and if it goes on long enough she can't see a thing.
Good luck with your son, I took maximum doses of ibuprofen for my arthritis, caused my blood pressure to spike, damaged my kidneys, now I only have about 5% kidney function and am on dialysis, watch him close, would not wish this on anyone.

He's out cold from the medicine so he tolerated the MRI well. His creatinine level crept up a bit.

Thanks everyone.

Praying for Marky. If he's at CHP - he's in great hands. Good luck.
