I don't want one for myself because they don't go far enough on a charge and are too expensive, but there is tremendous performance potential in electric cars, some of which is already being exploited. An electric motor reaches all, or almost all, of its torque the moment it starts turning. The starter motor in your car, if a stick (not automatic) and the clutch interlock bypassed, can move the whole car (but not for long). If each wheel had its own motor driving it, you could have AWD and no need for differentials, freeing up still more horsepower. No biggie. Figured I'd throw that one in, but left out the 3 cylinder or two stroke. Just for fun, I could have said a V-4 for all of the Ford guys out there. The Kabinenroller had a single cylinder engine. Got to sit in one, but not allowed to start it up.  | |||

I'm hoping the EV vehicles will follow the flatscreen television model. My 12 y.o. Mitsubishi 52" HD TV was $2800 when we bought it. Now I can buy a 72" UHD flatscreen for more than $2000 less than I paid in 2007. A new Tesla S for $22,000 will be my 'buy now' signal. Picked up a Model Y. This car is really impressive. Plus, it will keep the miles lower on my gas guzzling F250. The fuel saved should be noticeable. Build quality is very good. 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. It is fun to drive. Full Self Driving is pretty neat. It drove me home through Washington D.C. traffic without a problem. Using my friend's referral link, I got $2,000.00 off and three months of Full Self Driving subscription.   | |||

The new (3rd generation) Nissan Leaf looks good. IF I was in the market, I might actually go look at one. Slight drift..I rented a KIA SOUL on purpose last week. Picked it over some others kinda for shits and giggles. Holy Crap, I was completely surprised. Quick, handled like a sports car, asking for more and interior appointments were better than I expected. If i needed a vehicle I would consider the Tesla with FSD. My only concern is whether they will be around long term. It seems like the demand for electric is fading and I wonder about long term support. The people that I know who own Teslas love them. I would most likely go with the hybrid Corolla just due to long term support. My son-in-law haas. Prius with close to 200k on it and has had no issues. I do not know of anyone who owns a Tesla with that many miles so I can compare. | |||

Full self driving is $99 a month. You can’t buy it outright anymore. It used to be $8,000.00 to have it enabled and it was transferable to a new car. | |||
