For what its worth.

They told me it was a manager from a shop who was giving his own policy speech. The shops are independently owned/operated and the only connection to Goodyear is the sign outside. They pay a fee to Goodyear for the tires and thats it. Goodyear has no control how they run the shop and what policies they set.

Go back and tell him he is either lying through his teeth, or he got bad information.

That was a Goodyear slide. It was an internal slide to the company as they used the "One Team" Goodyear corporate internally-focused logo.

The audio was a guy that clearly stated "we make tires" not "we install tires."

Now, this well could have been an internal department below the "corporate" HR or Executive level, but unless the slide and audio is fake - which I guess is a possibility - this is unacceptable and Goodyear should be dragged through the mud for it.

As a reminder, what I'm suggesting is the rules as stated by the left. So we're just calling them out and cancelling them just like they did. Their rules.

I'd prefer the sit back and wait approach before burning them to the ground, but again ... their rules.

Ahh yes. I now remember that part in the audio. Good catch. It was not your local store.

The audio leaked, so they got caught in their lie and now had to issue more 'clarification':

The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Good catch xmod!

FWIW The Goodyear shops are franchises that must adhere to Goodyear policies and procedures.

Also I added Dunlop to my list of not buying. Since it looks like Goodyear is the parent company of Dunlop. Dunlop tires are somewhat popular with some motorcyclist.

Why do I think that the peon that made up that slide is no longer a Goodyear employee??

Depends on which "employee networks" they belong to. If none, then possibly fired.

Why would they be fired?

Corporate Headquarters has released multiple statements that it reflects their current policy. They bowed to pressure to allow 'support for police' clothing, but they continue to allow the political BLM stuff to be worn.

I'm sure they are looking for who leaked it, but don't see how or why they would go after the employee who created the slide based on the policy that was in effect.

Simple solution. Everyone wears a Goodyear shirt. When a company starts picking and choosing what's acceptable it turns to crap rapidly.

They haven’t been popular with sportbike riders for a decade and a half. They are never have been at the forefront of tire construction or compounds imo. We call them Dun-slops. No fan of the French either and don’t like Slippelins (Michelin). Bridgestone is the preferred tire of choice for sportbikes. I like Metzeler/Pirelli as well and someone mentioned it, but ChemChina returned 50+% control back to the Italians so Pirelli and Metzeler are still Italian controlled.

Fuck Dunlop and Goodyear. This is a mess and their CEO is just trying to stop the bleeding. Should have thought about that first. Fed and LE and EMS vehicles, oh my, they’ll happily migrate to Continental or someone else. Idiots.

As far as politics and wearing BLM or whatever bs at work. I have never worked anywhere but my own businesses that I have ran, where I could where shit like this. You keep this out of the work place. I hope other companies learn from this shit that LGBTQ, BLM, whatever it is, take it outside of the work place. Work is for business. Go cray cray on your own personal time and with your attire. Geez what this world is turning into.

Seems to me Goodyear is woke, the person most likely will be promoted. That is what they did to a person just like that where I worked one time not so long ago. I have little doubt that the person that made that slide can say 3 sentences without using the word diversity.

Who would have thunk it? People should wear work-appropriate attire at work. Huh.

Company logo apparel or plain, non-logo apparel of a style appropriate to the job in question.

Watch Goodyear tire workers rally after Trump's call for boycott of Akron company

If you listen to the hot microphone prior to the event, the folks at the Good Year associated Steelworkers Union sounded like they were discussing Michelle Obama and one made the statement “She was perfect.”

Another asked “Will you be going to the Biden fundraiser next week.”

Then there was a comment, “Don’t forget this is the mike.”

During the speeches there was no mention of the slide, no mention of Black Lives Matter, no mention of Blue Lives Matter, no mention of anything that could have instigated President Trumps comments regarding Good Year.

Zero mention of support for Law Enforcement.

Speeches were purely orange man bad.

Here are two screen grabs from the event.

“We’re in a situation where we have put together, and you guys did it for our administration…President Obama’s administration before this. We have put together, I think, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics,”

Yep... Cooper Tires that are intended for the military contracts and US domestic markets are made in the USA.

My dad was employed by Cooper for 15 years after retiring from his 22 year career in the US Navy. He worked at the plant in Findlay, Ohio. He took the job mainly to put me through The University of Findlay and to supplement his navy retirement.

Dad has since passed, but I still put Coopers on every vehicle I own within the first 2 weeks of ownership.

Now don't get me wrong... Coopers are also produced in China, but those are mainly for the Asian market (my dad had to train a little china-man how to use some of the equipment for the china operation before they were up and running).
