I agree, they just heard from me that there'll be no more Goodyear tires on any of our vehicles. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Thanks, ORC!! Michelin it is... "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Uh oh, da Preezy weighing in. If you don't think that'll make a dent in their bottom line... Oh, wait, all the SJWs are gonna run right out and drop 600 dollars on a set of Goodyears, to counter Goodyear's losses, right? It's funny. Companies ban MAGA hats and shirts as they are afraid of problems with people from one ideology being upset and potentially doing something that violates policy. Can you legally discriminate against employees based on their political ideology as a company? Seems like a great way to face some potential law suits. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Based upon...? It's private property. Other than discriminatory hiring and firing practices, stuff that runs afoul of OSHA, the ADA, etc., they can make whatever rules they want. So if someone gets fired for ignoring this policy they might have a case? Does this policy not open the door to such a possibility? **edit to add** What if I kept saying at Good Year “all lives matter” until I got fired? If I worked there I would 100% want to be a test case for a law suit against this new corporate woke bullshit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Email sent. I was going to wait for the OEM crap Goodyears on my car to wear out. No longer. They go and the Continental tires I wanted go on now. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams “It is just as difficult and dangerous to try to free a people that wants to remain servile as it is to try to enslave a people that wants to remain free." -Niccolo Machiavelli The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. The tires on my aforementioned Venza are the original OEM tires from 2011. I know there are many here who would say, "CHANGE THEM NOW" just because they're over a certain age. But with less than 50,000 miles on them, it's hard to justify that cost right now. But I guess I have to consider the cost of having a blowout at high speed on the highway... Looks like a trip to Discount Tire for some Michelins is forthcoming... "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Check the specific Michelins country of origin. Some are also made in China. Retailers are apprehensive to tell you where tires are made. Research for yourself. I like Cooper and Hankook myself. Maybe BF Goodrich. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Diversity and inclusion training that is anything but, how gauche. Blinded by their own biases they fail to see their hypocrisy. In this world there are people that invent products and build companies to produce them. In these companies there are people that work to; improve the product, in some cases design the equipment that makes the product(s), maintain and improve the manufacturing equipment, improve the manufacturing process, make the product less expensive to manufacture, improve the workflow and automation, develop IT networks, the logistics of materials in and products out, and keep the buildings operating with lighting, HVAC, water and other services. Basically a large number of activities that contribute to getting a product out the door for customers to purchase. Then there are these diversity and inclusion groups. They are parasites, incapable of actually contributing anything to the production of the companies products. Like any parasite they feed on the host destroying years of hard work and success. Unaware of how useless they are, they give commendations to each other and put the shiny plaques in their offices gazing longingly at them with a sense of self importance. Somehow twisting their thinking that the company and its products revolves around them. And we end up with drivel like One Team Zero Tolerance slides, clearly not well thought out and full of its own racist bias. Donald Trump is not a politician, he is a leader, politicians are a dime a dozen, leaders are priceless.

I know the subject of me & Red Bull is a bit touchy but I did recently discover that the owner of Red Bull (a Trump supporter) shit canned all of their diversity and “woke” departments inside the company. Cooper has some good rated AT tires. I'm thinking that's what I'll go with instead of good bye.

I replaced the GY Duratrac’s on my ‘03 4Runner with a set of Falken Wildpeak A/T3W’s, as they were discussed on this forum and were highly recommended. In my experience the Falken’s are every bit as good as the GY’s, and probably better in wet-road traction and reduced noise. Unfortunately this past winter sucked in terms of lack of snowfall so I did not have an opportunity to find out for myself, but inter-webz lore has the Falken’s a very close 2nd to the GY’s in this performance category. The Falken’s are made in the U.S.A. and were about $40 less per tire in the size that I purchased. Rob __________ "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy."

many years ago I put a set of the best goodyear tires on our Volkswagen. Drove the car to the port in France to bring it to the states. (we were traveling on company expense, and government orders). We had about 500 miles on the tires when we put it on the ship. Got to the states and drove the car about 3000 miles, then when I took it to the Goodyear dealer for state inspection, it would not pass, based on bad tires! I had the receipt showing purchase date, and car mileage for the warrantee and told the store manager I expected to have the defective tires replaced at their expense, and that included high speed spin balancing. Big argument, with head of Goodyear telling a regional manager to honor the guarantee, including balancing. Which led to another round of crap. Decided then that we would never put Goodyear tires on any of our vehicles! That was in 1968.

Perfect timing, I'm in the market. Thanks for helping narrow my choices. Goodyear is a piece of shit company. Just like everything else in Akron. -----------------------------------

I was about to purchase a new set of tires in a couple months so perfect timing. Thanks for letting me know and I contacted Goodyear, letting them know that I find their new corporate policy despicable and will be spending my $ elsewhere. Also that I will be informing family, friends and neighbors of their idiotic corporate policy.

I have Falken tires on my 4Runner and F250. I saved at least $50 per tire over Duratracs.
