We have an HOA in this neighborhood. No need to resist..

Just the time you think all your guns should be buried is the time to start using them. As far as resisting, we, as American citizens, see the evidence of an overthrow of our Republic daily, yet few consider that is what actually happened. Until you do, nothing will get better. And resisting doesn't mean you take up arms. It's simply not in a gun forum members purvey to accept any other method.

100% The government doesn’t care if you bury your guns in the backyard because if you bury them you’ll never dig them up again. If you think about burying your guns instead of using them you might as well take them in and get a few hundred bucks in gift cards. Those will do you more good. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

Yeah, burying ones firearms never made much sense to me. "America is at that awkward stage. If I had control, I wouldn’t resist. I’d let them roll in. I’d have the resistance melt into the culture. Then I’d run a viscous and stealthy insurgency. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

How does one repel an invading force? Two words pal, “Chuck Norris.”

It worked for Jack Hinson. If you have not read "Jack Hinsons One Man War" it is a good and true read.

If you want to blend in when invaders hit America, loot the stores for expensive sneakers and electronics. I'm so moved by what we've seen in the Ukraine. Patriots united. I'm pessimistic of what we'd see here. Thankfully, I'm equally optimistic we'll never experience a land invasion.

Lots of variables to consider, ultimately you need to know what the goals/objectives of your opposition is, from there you can form some strategy of resistance. If there's a 'front line' are you behind it? How far behind it? If you're within a reasonable distance or, the terrain is manageable enough to get moving, get your family out and let friendly forces handle the fighting. If you're deep behind lines or, there's zero help coming, at the most simplest level, you and your compatriots should focus on defending your families, ensure safe areas or, hide sites and not engagement. If your families/loved ones are in a safe position and you have the resources and knowledge of the area to conduct harassment and interdiction attacks, then targets should be chosen carefully. Just because you come across a tank or, find a group of soldiers, doesn't mean you automatically attack them. Generally, the greatest strength for a singleton is the ability to gather intelligence, troop/vehicle/equipment movement, and be able to pass it along to a stronger or, better equipped force. As we're seeing in Ukraine, while there's plenty of photos of tanks, APC's and combat vehicles on the side of the road, however most of the targeting is on combat support vehicles: wreckers, fuel tankers, bridging equipment, trucks carrying generators, command posts and communication. Winter is thawing and Spring is a very muddy time, called rasputitsa, the fields are deeply muddy and the roads are natural choke-points. It's believed that the Russian general that was killed by a sniper, had walked himself up to the front lines of the column to figure out what the movement problem was, and by exposing himself, he was killed. The Russians have continued to retain the worst aspects of Soviet structure, officers make all the decisions, NCO's aren't empowered to take any initiative and the junior troops are usually conscripts and disaffected kids. Know who the officers are and take them out.

Who's invading, where, and how? Any foreign power that wanted to invade the US would have to get huge forces across large oceans just to get in position. Those could easily be shot down/sunk in transit. They'd probably try and stage in a neighboring country (Mexico?), If they were able to start prepositioning there, we could preemtively invade and destroy them before they could get established. The USA would be a hard nut to crack, even before anyone could even get the shell.

The next conflict here will be civil in nature. I think I rather fight off a foreign invasion.

Yep, its gonna be us vs. us. Been online all week trying to buy stingers and Javelins with no luck yet. You would think some enterprising Uke would put up a couple of our weapons for sale but for now I guess they actually busy killing Russians with em.

Really? I think that's the most reasonable thing one can do overall no matter the circumstances. In most States already there is some sort of law that without adjudication you can have your firearms confiscated without notice. And on top of that there are a zillion cases where they just take them 'cause' they can and then you can fight to get them back. It would behoove you to have some alternate source of supply. Literally no matter the underlying reason you might need it. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

This conversation is nothing more than a bunch of 'what ifs'. The biggest threat from a foreign power will be in the form of multiple EMP blasts in our upper atmosphere. That would end any possible reasonable defense or offense by our military. Might as well as "How does one resist 24/7 propaganda." They don't. They succumb and eventually believe it is normal
