What is your inclusion and diversity goal or action for this year?

I'm really irritated with this question. Am I being too sensitive? I feel like I'm being put on the defensive.

This is the best I can come up with: My goal is to call out anything opposed to that when I actually see it.

Just write some flowery feel-good BS. Tell them what they want to hear.

That’s all you can do.

If you want to put down something that won't make you feel like showering with bleach after you write it, try something like: I will continue to foster a positive working environment where every employee feels free to bring their unique perspectives, concerns, and contributions to the table.

Don't get me started.

Wait, too late. I'm started. You ARE being put on the defensive. (Ready? Say you value inclusion and diversity. SAY IT!!! SAY! YOU! VALUE! AND! SUPPORT! THESE! THINGS!!!!)

I'm too stubborn. Above is the best I can sugarcoat it in writing but I don't think I will when I sit down with the boss. I won't say anything to get myself fired but there is no way I'm going to acknowledge anything "systemic," that's for sure.

That is really good. Thanks.

Well, it probably wouldn't sit well, but I'd probably respond "I don't have goals about those. I have goals to perform my job well and advance the profitability of this company. To that end I will do whatever is necessary."

N/A is not an option? Or just leave it blank...

I don't have that issue as there are no performance reviews in my current job. Just write ups and days off for cause.

A Perpetual Disappointment...

I’d write a smart remark like, “my goal is to be included in a raise”. Once my boss made me change it I would put some garbage in there. I currently do not have to do that but I can see it coming.

I have posted before, I was in the final interview for a full time teaching position at a local college, with the VP Academics, Dean of Business, Dept Chair, AND the District "Diversity" Chair.

One of the first questions, "how do you promote diversity in the classroom". My answer, "from my Army days, we recognize all the different colors, backgrounds, cultures, we acknowledge these. But we focus the fact that we are all in the same green uniform here for the same purpose. So I acknowledge all the diverse backgrounds, we are all here to learn accounting. (ie, I focus on what makes us the same, not what makes us different.)

Wrong answer.

The full time prof who was retiring, who got me the part time teaching position, told me "the only way you will get a full time position here is to change your gender or change your ethnicity.

Such is CA.

Just borrow from MLK. Tell them, "My plan/goal is the same every year. It's the content of character that matters, and nothing else." Translation, FUCK.YOU. Big Grin

Cross out NBA and put in your name. It works for them:

My goal is to move from a diversity reflex to an inclusion instinct. The NBA strives to cultivate a workplace in which everyone feels welcomed and empowered to bring their whole selves to work. As an organization, we respect and value our differences while coming together as colleagues.

BTW I have no idea what this means.

Possibly include a .40 caliber or a .300 black out into my collection. I have a very nice selection of weapons, however, diversification of calibers might be somewhat imprudent in the near future due to an ammo shortage.

See where that will get you Wink

I had a similar question on a review and my answer was as follows... I’m sorry but I refuse to participate in nonsense”. I never heard another word about it.

I will only strangle 6 liberal SJW's with gigli wire in the first quarter, 2 in the second and none the remainder of the year. They will all be disposed of in diverse locales with minimal disturbance to the social well being, while leaving minimal carbon footprint.
