I don't think left/right is all that useful... Look at it as collectivism vs. respect for the individual. The riots in America and the attempted overthrow of the United States... are part of the continued attempt to impose collectivism. To do so, you must sacrifice the will of the individual. The movie Plandemic explains it pretty well... Plandemic 3: The Great Awakening (Full, Unedited Movie) "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Well, it has been said that Winston Churchill said but there is no record that he actually was heard to say it. His own lifestyle did not follow the plan. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

Well there's a shocker! That's what the Government there wanted. Some of the people there wanted it. Now the rest (have and should) should pay. People needed to be arrested there. And not just the morons in CHOP. "Treason" is mostly associated with federal level stuff. I wonder if there's a state level? Dereliction of Duty, Criminal Negligence, Felony Theft (add up how much pay they got during that time)... Mayor, City Council, Police Chief... There's a lot that need to be held accountable. Being someone who's "stuck behind enemy lines" in a liberal Utopia, I feel sorry for the few decent people that are stuck there. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. This morning I was listening to my regular radio show, and one of the hosts was talking about his trip to Seattle the other night. Click the link below, it should play on your phone. He starts talking about his trip at about 6 minutes 35 seconds into the podcast. We are planning an Alaskan Cruise that ports out of Seattle and are reconsidering how much time we want to spend in downtown Seattle. The fishmarket, and even the original Starbucks are no longer what you would think they would be. Seattle is lost. https://abcnews4.com/news/nati...nty-washington-state This is what the politicians have created in Seattle. There's shootings, murder and crime every day. The Seattle area was a nice place to be when I moved here in 1988. The city was charming. ____________________________________________________ The butcher with the sharpest knife has the warmest heart.

Once you get to a certain level of decay, you can't vote your way out of it. You can only leave. "Some things are apparent. I graduated from high school there in 1982, loved the area and was accustomed to the weather, such as it is. By the time I got out of the service in 1989, 3 years after Micro$oft moved to Redmond, the area had already changed more than I was expecting, and the trajectory was pretty clear (getting more expensive and crowded)... Barring that I initially wanted to get a job at Naval Ship Weapons Engineering Station (NSWES) Port Hueneme, CA. but the pay was too low for living in that state, so I ended up moving to the South. I miss the old Seattle, some family still lives there, but that area simply wasn't ever going back to the way it was. I've visited there a few times since, and, well, not going to happen... __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

I lived thirty to forty minutes from Pike Place for twelve years. I took my son into downtown exactly twice, and that was seven, almost eight years ago and not since. He’s nine. Last year before we escaped, I considered whether we should take him there for an afternoon so he’d have some memories of the big city he grew up next to, and the answer I always came back to was even if we weren’t assaulted by a raging meth head or step in shit or sit on a needle, how could I explain to him the things I knew he would see? The answer was always just “let’s get out without flying closer to the flame.” I can only suggest people don’t go to Seattle. Oh, and the circus with the IED’s and the ambush of a fentanyl tent? I would guess that if anything, that was downplayed in the news article. I worked in downtown Tacoma for nearly five years spread between 2014 and 2013 and I’ve seen things that people would think were too far-fetched if they saw it in a movie. Let it burn. Let all the decent folk leave and just let the junkies burn it all down. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

Ronin, do you remember the old "Marine Corps rules of gunfights"? Bring a gun Bring friends with guns Either that or pull a "Navy" and just stay far enough off the coast to watch it burn, but not close enough to feel the heat. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. Ten years ago I took a tour via AMTRAK from Chicago to Seattle, with 4 days at Glacier NP. We toured a number of places in Seattle and it was enjoyable, but I'm sure we avoided any "difficult" areas. From what I've heard that is more difficult to do these days. We ate at a restaurant named Salty's at Alki Beach and it was excellent. Visited the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks--interesting place. Quick stop at the Pike Place Market--lots to see there. Walked under the old 1962 World's Fair monorail tracks. Spent some time at Kerry Park to take pictures of the skyline. Photos at https://www.flickr.com/photos/...s/72157635043161597/ It was enjoyable at the time. Not sure I'd want to repeat it now. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

No More Mr. Nice Guy |
We did a cruise out of Seattle in May. We stayed right on the waterfront and felt it was safe during daylight. We took the ferry across to Bainbridge Island and it was perfectly normal over there. The hotels are at the old waterfront, and cruises go out of the other piers which are only about 2 miles away. But, if you haven't embarked a cruise in Seattle before, plan to get to the port itself quite early. It is very poorly designed for cars moving people in and out. Add at least one hour for gridlock. Once you get out of the vehicle the port moves people pretty well, though it is poorly signposted for things like where to leave your luggage if you are not carrying it on yourself. Perhaps a good option is to stay the night before at the airport, then take the cruise provided transfer to the ship.

I live on Bainbridge and your take is about right on both the island and Seattle. Where once you could walk from one end of downtown to the other, I wouldn't do it. Starbucks and Amazon are closing offices seemingly as fast as they can and when once the evening news, was focused on traffic on I5 now its like a willie Nelson song. My wife's doc is in Seattle within walking distance from the ferry. She takes the car so she doesn't have to go through a 5 block sewer/shooting gallery/physical hazard area. It's worth the $50 buck fare. I worked downtown Sea. for 30 of my 40 working years with the rest on the Island. I don't recognize it and unless I have to I don't go to it. _______________________

Yeah, ten years ago, it wasn't too bad. Yes, there was a homeless enclave in the park just north of Pike Place and you'd see them here and there, but it wasn't bad. Pioneer Square was a circus, even during the daytime, but it wasn't dangerous. Maybe someone who lives closer could comment better to that, but it seems like somewhere about five years ago or so, the wheels just fell off. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

It hasn't been a "normal" city in a long time now. I lived for a time over on the eastern part of the state, Spokane area, in the late 90's to early 2000's before I moved to Alaska. Remember taking my young kids over to Seattle for a weekend when they were little and having to explain to my 5yo son why the man was "sleeping" with a needle hanging out of his arm in Pike Street Market outside one of the shops. I agree it's gotten worse in the 20+ years since, but......the decay had taken root even then. _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.
