Oregon State Police will return to Portland to assist local officers after a man was fatally shot amid clashes between supporters of President Trump and Black Lives Matter protesters.

Gov. Kate Brown announced the decision in a statement Sunday which is part of a six-point plan that she said would "protect free speech and bring violence and arson to an end in Portland."

She said the nearly 100 days of protests have stretched the Portland Police Bureau’s resources thin, and that additional local and state personnel, as well as federal resources, will give the Police Bureau "the investigative capacity to arrest and charge those individuals who have engaged in violent or destructive acts and endangered public safety."

"As done previously, Oregon State Police (OSP) will detail personnel and resources to Portland to free up the Portland Police Bureau’s investigative capabilities to arrest and charge those engaging in violent acts," the statement said. "OSP troopers will continue their standard practice of wearing body cameras to allow for the documentation of their activities."

because after 100 days of uncontrolled looting and burning, we are so worried about "documenting" that wild bunch of state police

Under the plan, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office will prosecute serious criminal offenses, including arson and physical violence. Meanwhile, the sheriff's office will work with other agencies to hold people booked for violent behavior and ensure that there is adequate jail space to hold such individuals, according to the statement.

“We all must come together—elected officials, community leaders, all of us—to stop the cycle of violence,” said Brown. “But this is only the first step. Real change will come from the hard work to achieve racial justice. And it starts with all of us listening to each other, and working together."

Oh, she’s got a six-point plan. Well I guess that means it’s all under control now, right? I mean, after all, it’s not a four or a five, but a six-point plan. Certainly sounds impressive. Roll Eyes

What is most outrageous beyond the fact of the shooting is that Reinoehl had been arrested by Portland Police on July 5 at 2:10 am in the downtown area where Antifa has been actively protesting for more than 3 months. When he was arrested he was found to be in possession of a handgun. He was charged by Portland Police with possessing a loaded firearm, resisting arrest, and interfering with police.

But no charges were filed by District Attorney Michael Schmidt, and the case was dismissed on July 30 with a “No Complaint” entry, which I interpret to mean the District Attorney’s Office did not file a criminal complaint in response to the arrest supported by probable cause. The Oregonian obtained a statement from a spokesman for DA Schmidt’s office claiming the July case against Reinoehl was still under review. Mr. Danielson’s family will be glad to know that I’m sure.

Sounds like a liability lawsuit in the making against the City of Portland.

This should be attempted murder if he hit that guy with a brick. It is obviously premeditated if his friends got it on video and then laughed about it.

58% of the people arrested in Kenosha were not from the City

Authorities in Kenosha, Wisconsin, have arrested 175 people during the past week of civil unrest sparked by the shooting of Jacob Blake. Most of the people who were arrested were not from Kenosha. The police department said that of the 175 people arrested, 102 listed addresses outside of the city. They said they arrested people from 44 different cities throughout the week.

Sixty-nine people were arrested for curfew violations. Of those 69 people, 34 were also hit with additional charges, including carrying concealed weapons, burglary, and possession of controlled substances. Authorities seized 20 firearms and towed three vehicles, which were related to active criminal investigations.

Authorities are anticipating the protests and riots will continue and have enacted a curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

"The public needs to be off the streets for their safety. The curfew will be enforced," the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department warned on Facebook.

Went out for breakfast this morning, and took a swing past a couple of the different areas that had been damaged.

The uptown area, about 10 blocks from my home, looked terrible. Two large buildings, completely gone, just a few bricks remain to give an idea of their foundation. Across the street, another building completely burned out, just the structure remains.

T'was depressing. Nearly 100 year old buildings that stood the test of time; here since the days when Kenosha was an industrial powerhouse, but wiped out in a few days by senseless rioting.

Only selectively. Just did search there for "Legal Defense Fund", got 3103 hits. All aren't individuals but on just the first page plenty of individuals charged with crimes, a couple examples below.

Sample, not suggesting donating!

Meet The Rioting Criminals Kamala Harris Helped Bail Out Of Jail

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have a problem. They know it, the media knows it, everyone knows it.

For three months they have ignored the deadly rioting that spread across the nation’s cities on both coasts and in between. They insisted that what we were seeing was “mostly peaceful” protests and that Donald Trump and his evil allies were defaming decent Americans who just want social justice. Now they want to denounce these riots, but there is a problem: Harris is a financial supporter of the rioters she now claims to denounce.

Yes, that’s right, the Democrats’ vice presidential candidate was a huckster for a bail fund that sought to free violent criminals who were rioting on the streets of Minneapolis, and she was very effective at it. In the wake of deadly fires and looting, Harris asked her five million plus Twitter followers to donate money to bail out the “protesters” arrested in the riots. Let’s meet a few of the beneficiaries of her largesse, shall we?

Fox 9 News in Minneapolis did the research for us. Here are a few of the criminals they found Harris did a solid for.

Among those bailed out by the Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF) is a suspect who shot at police, a woman accused of killing a friend, and a twice convicted sex offender, according to court records reviewed by the FOX 9 Investigators. According to attempted murder charges, Jaleel Stallings shot at members of a SWAT Team during the riots in May. Police recovered a modified pistol that looks like an AK-47. MFF paid $75,000 in cash to get Stallings out of jail. Darnika Floyd is charged with second degree murder, for stabbing a friend to death. MFF paid $100,000 cash for her release. Christopher Boswell, a twice convicted rapist, is currently charged with kidnapping, assault, and sexual assault in two separate cases. MFF paid $350,00 [sic] in cash for his release.

Kamala Harris and her friends in the corporate media, otherwise known as the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party, will pretend this never happened and they are counting on voters to be too ignorant to know that it did. Harris was so eager to be on the rioters’ team that she literally raised money for them in the hopes that they could be released and foster further mayhem.

That on its own would be bad enough. But the fact that she is now attempting to pretend she was against all of this violence, and looting, and arson, and destruction from the get go is an insulting joke. Did Harris really think that peaceful protesters obeying the rules were the ones arrested in Minneapolis? Of course she didn’t. She just assumed that justifying the unrest would help Democrats’ political chances. Now that this has been shown to be false, she is trying to change her position. It’s way too late for that.

The American people aren’t stupid, they know exactly where Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party stood on the riots. They stood side by side with the rioters. That they have now cynically come to regret that position is, I suppose, a good thing. But it does not erase the harm done in lives, property, and opportunity that their approval of rioting did. We know whose side they were on, and it wasn’t the police. The American people will not forget that.

"Starting in the late hours of November 9 and continuing into the next day, Nazi mobs torched or otherwise vandalized hundreds of synagogues throughout Germany and damaged, if not completely destroyed, thousands of Jewish homes, schools, businesses, hospitals and cemeteries. Nearly 100 Jews were murdered during the violence. Nazi officials ordered German police officers and firemen to do nothing as the riots raged and buildings burned, although firefighters were allowed to extinguish blazes that threatened Aryan-owned property."

As a retired cop, a Jew, and a student of history, I can't help but draw a comparison of what's occurring now and what happened in Germany on Krystal Nacht. What IF patriotic Germans defended Jewish lives, homes, synagogues, and places of business from the attacks of Brownshirts that occurred as police officers were ordered to "stand down", instead of stopping these riots? Abetting this kind of terrorism IS VIOLENCE. The violence of omission and the implied approval of the rioters' actions.

It has long been obvious to me that these "protesters" are the true reincarnation of the Nazis and other Fascists.

The problem with GoFundMe requests that rise from criminal cases like this is that the accused’s version of the event may not be anywhere close to what the facts end up revealing. Here’s a follow-up news article (linked below) on the Statesboro, Georgia killing.

Cold-cocked judge becomes latest victim of senseless NYC violence

https://nypost.com/2020/08/31/...seless-nyc-violence/

A Manhattan judge became the latest victim of senseless city violence when she was cold-cocked by an apparent stranger on a bike while walking to work Monday, officials and law enforcement sources told The Post.

Criminal court Judge Phyllis Chu, 56, had just gotten off the Staten Island Ferry and was headed to her job at the downtown courthouse at 100 Centre St. around 9:40 a.m. when she was suddenly slugged in the jaw by a male cyclist at the corner of Wall and Water streets.

“With no words exchanged, a bicyclist riding in the opposite direction as the one she was walking in just punched her in the face and kept going,’’ Lucian Chalfen, spokesman for the city’s Office of Court Administration, told The Post.

The judge called the cops, and then canvassed the area with responding officers hunting for her attacker, to no avail, the courts rep said.

“The individual who may have been emotionally disturbed was nowhere to be found,’’ Chalfen said — noting that the attack occurred “in broad daylight.’’

The suspect was described by sources as heavy-set and wearing a blue and green shirt.

The judge, who suffered a swollen lip, refused medical attention at the scene, sources said.

She eventually went to work, told her colleagues what happened and was taken to the hospital, Chalfen said.

“She’s in the [emergency room] now’’ at Beekman Downtown Hospital, a law enforcement source added of Chu.

Chu’s recent court cases have included that of accused sex assaulter and actor Cuba Gooding Jr.

The judge, who was appointed to the bench by Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2017, has also presided over cases involving the ex-husband of former TV reality show star-turned-entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel, as well as plastic surgery-obsessed socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein, whom The Post famously dubbed the “Bride of Wildenstein’’ because she went under the knife so many times to try to look more like her beloved pet big cats.
